Hey folks...

I don't know about anyone else on the site, but I'm a movie junkie. I love nothing more than to grab a DVD and get comfortable. I also love reading or hearing peoples' differing views and opinions about all movies. When I read a differing opinion other than mine regarding a certain film, I always re-watch it with that said opinion in mind. Nine times out of ten, I'm enlightened anew. So my question is, what is the last movie you saw, be it in the theatre or at home? What did you think of it? Good or bad? Why? I'll start with The Day After Tomorrow. Just finished watching it. My first impression... is... it was good. Not great, but seeing NYC get wiped out by a tidal wave was pretty durned cool. This is not a movie for an acting student, but the effects were spectacular.

So the final Presidential debate is on tonight, and in the spirit of all those entertaining online blogs that do a play-by-play, I thought it might be fun to have a bunch of us with differing opinions offer what we think about each point or notable moments during the debate. Anybody interested? Anybody even on the site?

If anybody wants to go for it, announce your thought with an Eastern time-stamp...i.e. "9:38 pm ET: Wow, Bush sure is tense. I think I see little red flames in his eyes and those cowlicks are starting to look more and more like horns."

Just a quick question for all of you lucky enough to attend a States show on a regular basis.

It looks like most of the clubs the hip play range in capacity from around 600 to 2500. Do they normally sell out these venues or are they 1/2 full, 1/4 full?? I assume that ones closer to the boarder get a few more people attending, but what about the ones further away?

I saw that great seats were still available for the Toledo show but now it is moved to what I am guessing is a smaller club. Any idea if it was because of ticket sales or anything?

I am attending the Grand Rapids show at The Orbit, says the capacity is around 1800, any guess on if it will be even near capacity??

Anybody see this video? The insults were cool back in the Aguilera-Fellatio / "My bum is on your lips" years but I think he just pushed it too close to the ledge. I got a feeling this dude's got about a good 3 months before he's gone. As much as I think Em is awesome at rapping, he just officially gave up his gimmick; Make-Fun-Of-Everybody-Currently-In-The-News-So-People-Will-Think-You're-Cool... Anybody wanna take some stabs at a failing plan? Or maybe defend it to ashes?

Those who know me from my prior post should recognize that I have been harping on the Hip needing to do a "live download" series for ever!

I am sooo siked to finally see it's in place but I have to be honest...

Gord's vocals suck in this concert (7/1/04)...

It's frustating because the rest of the band is SPOT On, great backing vocals by Paul and Gord S., killer setlist, great artwork, amazing sound, etc, etc...

I've been noticing that alot of Gord's vocal performances during the early 2004 canadian dates were spotty at best ..
seemed like he was bored with the songs, or his voice was hoarse, didn't sing the classics the right way, and this Toronto show is no exception...

"Grace" has little or no Gord rants..

He almost is making a joke of his vocals in "Wheat kings" and "Blow"..
and his voice is god-awful on "Good Life", "Courage", and "Meridian"

"NOIS" is the most listless vocal rendition I have ever heard..like he wanted to get it over ASAP..

where is the Gordie "punch' of the old days..?

Maybe the visual of this concert eclipsed Gord's vocal shortcomings.. I don't know..

Let me praise the band's management for finally finding a venue that can earn cash for the Band while we "Hip boot maniacs" can get some soundboards..

But I put this show alongside my "Live between us" CD..on the shelf
and keep listening to the Bill's Bar 1998 and Chicago 2002 shows that Rory gave me until the next release ....

here's hoping Gord Sinclair nails it with the next "Live Series- Volume 2" release..

I have won a Meet & Greet for the Metallica show in London and I'm thinking about getting a cymbal signed by the band, then framing it along with the pictures of me with each band member.

Has anyone ever got a cymbal signed? What was used to sign it and how did it turn out? I want to make sure that the signatures don't smear or wear off over time.

If anyone has any suggestions about the best way to do this, I would really appreciate it.
