Forgive me if this has been covered (probably a thousand times knowing my luck) in a different thread - I couldn't find it (even using the *Search* feature) but I was watching the video for Blow at High Dough and was wondering what the movie was in the background? Is it actually a movie or is it just clips from multiple sources? And if it is a movie, was it shot in Kingston?

If someone could shed some light, that would be great!

Here in Massena N.Y., they DO play The Hip on the radio, and there's a framed photo of "President Gore" on the wall of the Dem HQ. Folks here are hesitant but hopeful.

Over at the Bush camp, confidence rules the day. They won't take Manhatten, but they're focused on the big picture.

Zogby has called it for Kerry, CNN and AP think it's too close to call. I'm just happy to have HBO on the Motel Magnivox.

A nation divided? Yes, there are some here who've told me that if Bush wins: he'll trade North Dakota's children for oil. While others are certain that President Kerry will allow the "queers" to run the military.

Yet for the most part, these are friendly, moderate people. They'll admit, when pressed, that not much will change if the other guy wins. On most issues, the two parties agree, where they differ is mostly in the details.

Which leader is best for Canada? Well, one guy is a hockey playing, French speaking, protectionist. The other is a small-government, straight speaking cowboy. So, I guess it depends on your Canada.

One thing is for certain here: these are a very proud people. "9/11" is not a cliche here, at least not yet. It still resonantes in New York State. These people, no matter what political stripe, are united in the belief that the U.S.A. is the world's only indispensible nation. Good thing? Bad thing?

I wonder if The Soprano's are on...

hey folks
hope all is well.. okay I've got WAAAAAAAY too much live music that I NEVER listen to.. it just really takes up too much space in my house as well and I would like to get rid of it..

there's really a massive mix of DMB/Bob Marley/Neil Young/Phish/Tragically Hip/Dave & Tim/Rolling Stones etc.. just a massive amount of different bands..

I've put 3 sets of 100 discs together in order to get rid of them..

I am looking for $50 usd for each one [this includes shipping which would be about $10 per package, so really I'd be getting $40 per 100 cds, PLUS on top of that I will donate $10 to the SPCA, so after paypal fees etc I will only be getting about $27 or so for 100 discs or about 27 cents a disc... I suspect these will go quick..

  Henhouse Tour

I was listening to the 96 Cleveland show this morning on my way to work, and I was reminded how amazing that tour really was. I'll go out on a limb and say that was the Hip at their peak. That's not to say they have diminished in talent or anything, just that I feel they were at the peak of their Canadian popularity then.

I was at the Saskatoon show for that tour and it still stands out as one of the best I've seen...18 shows so far in total. What I remember the most was the crowd was really into the Hip and extremely participatory(sp?) for almost every song. It seemed people knew the lyrics for every song, even the new ones off Henhouse, and sang them out for the whole show. Scared really stands out in my mind because not only was the crowd singing, but everybody was clapping in unison for the whole song. Something about a packed arena clapping and singing in unison that is just amazing.

Listening to the Cleveland show (great job whoever recorded it!) brought back a lot of those memories. You can clearly hear the crowd singing along to many of the songs, something you don't get on many bootlegs.

Anyways, carry on with your day.

Anybody planning a trip this winter? I would like to go somewhere hot in Jan. or Feb.

I haven't done my homework yet. Has anybody found some good deals? I'm thinking Florida may be cheap on account of all the hurricanes they've experienced this year. Miami Beach sounds pretty good. I went to Vegas last May and I would go back in a second if it was warm like that in the winter. I'm not really into the Dominican-Cuba-Mexico fad. I would, however, go to a caribbean island such as Jamaica. My sister said the nicest island she's been to was Aruba, but it's quite pricey. How about cheap cruises?

Ideas anyone?

I realize there is already a discussion on this topic, for revival sake, was the whole project scrapped like the 11th Fret? It'd be too bad, I was anxiously awaiting a new video, and this would seem like the album to do more than one video for, what, with all the good reviews, the media exposure with the Grey Cup and Labatt Blue and a fair sized Canadian tour right around the corner. Maybe the web-master for thehip.com subs as the video editor and hes getting right to it...

Other than the hip, what other canadian bands do you like.

Personally I am a huge trews fan.
