I've been recently recalling bits and pieces of a memory, maybe the faint gust of memory, maybe less than that. I heard something on the radio. It was like 1999 or 2000. It was a version of Ahead By A Century that was like, infused or something, with bits of other recordings like from news stories. I'm not sure about it. I only heard it the one time and I actually remembered it in a dream; I was playing ABAC in the dream (maybe) and one part was playing and it flicked and a woman's voice was all upset and talking about a disaster or something.

When I woke up, I had the vague recollection of hearing this song in Greenwood, NS in 99 or 00 on the radio (but my life around this time is ultrafoggy, lol) So, the question; is there a remix of ABAC somewhere out there "infused" with little clips of real-life events? Or was this some local radio station creation?

I apologize now if this is a stupid question.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before (Mr. Searchy indicated that to the best of his knowledge, it hadn't yet been discussed), but when listening to my 1990-07-01 (Barrie) boot just now I heard lines of what would become The Luxury in Baby, Please Don't Go.

It gots me thinkin' - and maybe this is something for LB - wouldn't it be kinda neat (or wickedly anal) to have a list of rants that eventually led to individual songs, and when these rants were first heard?!?

Sounds like Bubba and the rest of the presidents might want to wear bright orange....even in my home state, where deer hunting is almost an organized religion, we do not have hunters stash their rifles in their car to go hunting after work cratch:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Reuters) - Employees at a Little Rock office building have been asked to leave their deer hunting rifles at home because the president and three former presidents are coming to town to open Bill Clinton (news - web sites)'s presidential library.

Acxiom Corporation distributed a memo to the 420 employees in its 12-story sales and marketing building in Little Rock's River Market district -- near the Clinton library -- reminding them of its policy forbidding weapons on company property.

"This would not be a time to violate that policy," said Dale Ingram, spokesman for Acxiom.

The Acxiom building overlooks the library, where President Bush (news - web sites) and former presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Clinton are to speak.

Deer hunting season in Arkansas began last weekend, and overlaps with the dedication, on Thursday, of Clinton's library.

Deer hunters in Arkansas take the sport so seriously that many of them keep their rifles and shotguns and other equipment in their cars, which makes it easier for them to get in a few hours in the woods before or after leaving work.

"With hunting season opening, associates should be especially mindful not to have firearms, ammunition or other weapons in their vehicles," the Acxiom memo noted.

I was thinking. If they were to make a movie about the tragically hip who would play each band member?

I know there was a Gord Downie look a like contest on a website where people would email in their nomination for which actor looked most like Gord. I'd love to know who you think, looks wise, would play each of the band members if they made a movie. I think it would be fun.

I just was doing a resume to get an open sales position at the station that presented the Hip in Clifton Park. I added that "I am a huge fan of the Tragically Hip"

Well, I used the grammar checker. It said...


"The adverb Tragically does not usually modify the noun hip, try an adjective"

I just found that funny and wanted to pass it on.

Just picked this up yesterday and it's amazing. Lots of cool stuff and rare performances, including a brilliant version of Hasn't Hit Me Yet from their 1994 Conan O'Brien appearance.

Goddamn I wish the Hip would put out a DVD.

Anyone else pick this up? It came out yesterday and its 4 dvds of non stop performances from the famous July 13, 1985 show that was in London and Philly. It was put together to raise money for those starving in Africa. The amount of talent that came together for one day is incredible. Its a must buy for people who love live music.

Does anyone remember watching this show? I was only 7 at the time and have no recollection of it. I had heard some boots of it before, but now watching it. Simply amazing.
