my comp recently died, and now i'm back up with a new one and trying to find a good clean free program.. i was using kazaa lite, but can't seem to find it anymore....i guess there's winmx, but i'm not overly thrilled with it..any ideas?

well after years (started the summer of 97) of recording the concerts i go to with audio i'm thinking of getting a mini dv camera, now concerts won't be the only thing i use it for but i'll definitly use it with the hip and any other band that allows taping

so in short i'm looking for some recomendations, and i figure this group is as good as any for info, there seem to be enough hip video tapers out there already right so i wanna contribute to pile

so any info you can give would be great, reply here or pm me

i'm looking for what brands you recomend, ease of use, battery stamina, pretty much anything you got let me know

i'd like to keep it under $1000 canadian and i'd like to have it before new years

What are the "laws" regarding parking tickets?

I got a $60 ticket on December 3 for ""STAND VEHICLE SIGNED HIGHWAY PROHIBITED (TIMES/DAYS)"

My question is, do I have to pay it? What happens if I just throw it in my glovebox and forget about it?

As well, there were no signs indicating that where I parked was a 'No Parking' zone. I even put money in the meter to ensure that I was covered until 9pm, when parking is free.

Any suggestions?

I was searching for an old article from a Sun publication, and discovered that they remove old articles, and now charge $10 for an email version. In light of this, I think that we should always copy and paste the entire article into a Hipbase post (citing the website link) to ensure that these articles don't just serve to feed the coffers of Quebecor and the like.

Thoughts?

I know, most of the band isn't even involved in the best known (Maybe only known) "swinging on a star" version of the song, but each listen makes it harder to argue against it as the greatest Hip song of all time.

It's sounds so genuine, so "hurtin" as Mr. Milgaard might say, and it's the perfect example of that oh-so-wicked juxtaposed harmony that Mr. Langlois and Mr. Downie do so well.

I'm thinking it's a shame it never receieved a commercial release.

1) Amp, Aug 2 2002. There were two of you, both tapers with equipment. You met my buddy Luke and I in the Ontario Place parking lot after we'd left Ottawa at 4pm and JUST made T.O in time for the show. We didn't have tickets, but you guys just happened to have two extra.

2) Copps, NYE 2002. I stood next to you in the beer line for 30 minutes. You had run for office in Illinois twice, and lost both times on a platform of libertarian positions, or as you said: "Hookers and booze for everyone" Jesse Jackson campaigned against you once, and you were taking your girlfriend to Niagara Falls for the first time after the show.

Are either of you guys around here?

Just wondering if anybody can connect the dots to Gord's reference to London as "Our first home away from home," his "We used to come here a lot" line and Paul or Bobby playing the intro to "Higher Ground" (I forget who did the original, but the Chili Peppers version is pretty well known... and now that I hear it again it might be an old ZZ Top song or something: "I'm on the road again" I duuno, can't place it at the moment) at the tail end of New O.

Could that have been a reference to their cover-band days?

Does anybody have the scoop on any time the boys may have spent in London or if the town has any significance (Other than being a major University town: which may have been a hotbed for them when they were the "it" band at Queens in 85/86) to the bands history?

I just joined this league, but need some equipment (shoulder pads, pants, etc). Anyone know where I can pick some up?
