So, I jammed with James on Sunday and he told me he was no longer in Blue Rodeo. All I have to say is, those are some enormous shoes to fill, musically.

As many of you know, the wall located down an alley on King Street and Princess Street here in Kingston has carried the fine "The Hip Live Between Us" artwork of Davis Manning for many years.

It is my sad duty to inform you that this is no longer. A new retailer occupying the space within that buildings walls has decided to paint over it.

Truly a sad day.

Well it might be that time to get a new video camera! Right now i have a Sony Digital 8 camera.
I am looking for a camera, that will make colours more viberant! Also a video camera that is good for capturing audio from shows!
And last thing is, something that hs long tapes, and can hold alot of video footage on the recording media! (for instance, my 8mm tapes only hold 1.5 hours, witch kinda sucks for longer setlists, and times like new years........

Some stuff I dug up and compiled on Dottie Cormier, described as 'One of the Queen's of Toronto's bluegrass and alt county scene' in 2001... could it be her?

Dottie Cormier is one of Canada's foremost bluegrass artists. The 32 year old is described in Socan's 'Words and Music' magazine as "someone to watch out for," and is already regarded as a respected veteran among Ontario musicians. Having grown up in Toronto, Cormier began her career in the mid nineties when she formed Heartbreak Hill, an influential and successful touring bluegrass band. The first full length Heartbreak Hill disc was nominated for a Juno Award in 1999, and remains one of the best selling "roots/traditional" albums in Canada. Dottie followed up her Heartbreak Hill success with a solo release and tour that were both critically well received, warranting comparisons to Sarah Harmer and Greg Keelor.

Gamestop merged with Eb today to form the biggest (and really only) video game store chain. with now 3300 stores in 8+ countries they are certain to take down wally mart. Gamespot bought Eb for 1.4 billion, and CEO of Eb is now gone.

Gamestop has never moved into canada so they are likely just to take our name and not close us.....however american employees will certainly lose jobs as some malls have both stores inside.

The weird thing is that Eb games is worth more then Gamestop by close to half a billion and yet they by us?? This sucks!

Now we are the EA / Microsoft of the gaming world.

There is a pretty cool version of Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio here where someone has mixed it with Wonderwall from Oasis. Now, I can't stand Oasis but this song sounds awesome in the remix. Has anyone else heard this and does anyone know where it originated from? Only the one rock station here is airing this version and no one else and the dj's never say where it came from.

I was checking out the website and it seems to have been updated with pics and videos from the Junos!

with all this talk about M@W lately, i thought i'd revisit the other album that seems to get dogged quite a bit around here..i really don't find the production all that bad on this disc like some do...i used to..but upon listening to it again the other day on the way to work (about an hours drive), i was really getting into it... one cannot deny the sheer brilliance of the last 2 songs..dire wolf, and dark canuck...silver jet, granted has never found itself live, but on the disc i think it's perfect...darkest one is just so damn catchy, as is beautiful thing...leave is one hell of a trippy journey, good life is beautiful, and use it up is a better stones song then the stones have done in years...throwing off glass is such a personal insight into gord as a father, i find it touching and amazing he would let us in like that...just my 2 cents
