A few months ago a piece of the tail of one of these planes fell off during take-off from Varadero, Cuba, and now this. My advice: don't get on an Air Transat A310 and if you live near an airport....move.

Plane forced to land after windshield cracks

ST. JOHN'S - An airplane developed a crack in a windshield while it was halfway across the Atlantic, forcing it to make an emergency landing in St. John's.

About 360 passengers were stranded in the city after the Air Transat Airbus landed Monday.

The flight was on its way to Paris from Montreal when a windshield developed a small crack.

The damaged plane underwent temporary repairs in Newfoundland and flew out later in the afternoon without any passengers.

The passengers were to fly out in the evening on two jets sent from Montreal.

With all this talk of a PJ tour thought Id throw some gas on the fire. Got a favorite PJ album? A memorable concert? Love to hear it since I have yet to see them live, hopefull this supposed tour will be my big chance.

Myself Ive been a big PJ fan since day one, my personal favorites are
Vitalogy, Riot Act and Yield, mainly because my favorite songs are on those albums. I enjoy all the albums, but if had to pick a least favorite it would be No Code, it just doesnt flow like the rest of em. IMO. Favorite tunes are:

Rearviewmirror
Low Light
Ghost

I had no idea this was an actual bird until I heard my grandmother mention it. I did find some details that kinda add to the song. What can I say? I've got a thing for dirty birds:

The whip-poor-will is a North American species of bird known for its distinctive song (Which sounds like it's name, and which Gord took to imitating during the 2004 arena tour. You can hear it at the above link) and unique yellow markings. The night-flying bird was once thought to possess powers of witchery, and was often blamed for poor agricultural production or strange behaviour in animals. It's eyes glow red when struck with light.

Just curious to know if you can take mpeg files and make dvd's out of them... wondering if there is a site with any good info or an FAQ somewhere. I have a bunch of non-Hip related music clips I'd love to burn to dvd... any help would be appreciated. We've had a dvd burner for weeks and haven't used it yet...

hey folks .. kinda noobish thread ... anyways, I've never been an autograph seeker, especially of porfessional athletes. i've always been around them due to my father's profession and my involvement with the game of golf.

The only two people I have wanted to meet, and have them autograph something for me are Gord Downie, and Jack Nicklaus. I met Jack this winter, and asked him for some advice and he signed for me. a class act.

soooooooo... I have a few beatiful shots of Gord, a few from a Vancouver 99 show, and a few from the fabled Stephen Dame. i'd love to meet Gord some time and get him to autograph one for me and one for my brother. an equal devotee to the HIP.

I've seen his autograph for sale on e-bay but that doesn't appeal to me. Anyone with any interesting stories on getting his signature, or meeting him? any tips for me? where could I find him hanging out? ahaha.

Does anyone have any advice on selling textbooks back? I know that the bookstore wont give me much for it, and I have tried 2 online sites: Half.com and Barnesnoble.com
Anyone have luck selling their books in other places except those I listed?
