Hey guys, I know its probably the longest of long shots... but was just wondering if anyone had any tickets available to the upcoming Toronto shows and didn't want to be a total jerk about the price.
This fan from Buffalo is running out of time and methods here... was hoping that some friends from the board might be able to help out. Thought I'd try to see if anyone had any recent cancels on them.
If anyone is coming from Buffalo and has an extra (or two) to sell, I'd be happy to drive the way there and back. No money for gas required. I'll even grab your first Molson.
Thanks... Gord Bless.
Looking for help tracking down a show - cant find it through regular searches...
It is a benefit/fundraising show The Hip did in 1992 or 1993 at the Phoenix, Toronto. I think it was for some record exec who died from cancer.
The tickets were $100 - a ton of dough for a ticket back then - and I managed to get a pair on the day of the show - they released some - the show was mostly attended by industry types, I think
Pursuit of Happiness opened the show...
I was pressed right up at the stage. Id say it was an unforgettable show, but I forget a lot of the details!! I do remember being pretty in awe of Gordie....
If anyone knows the date of this show or the setlist it would be appreciated....
This semi is crossing into Canada via Fort Erie today.
Going to the Air Canada Centre.
It has a T-shirt printing press to handle the demand.
Just curious, with the shows now heading into Ontario, think there might be one or two special guests that pop up at a show? Part of me thinks maybe we'd see one or two at the Toronto and Kingston show. But the other part of me thinks that most musicians are going to pay their respect by just giving the boys 100% of the limelight, and rightly deserved at that.
Any thoughts? Think anyone will show up? By show up, I don't mean just attend, I mean actually hit the stage with them??
K-Rock 105.7 auctioned off all the seats in their private suite in the K-Rock Centre, with proceeds going to cancer services at Kingston General Hospital. I figured I'd eventually crack and pay an obscene amount of money on StubHub just to sit behind the stage and see the final show on this tour. So when this came up, I was all in - still paid an obscene amount, but I feel good knowing that the money's going to a great cause, and I get what should be a good seat.
There was some hardcore bidding going on - just wondering if any other HipBasers were among the group that got seats in the box?
i'm listening to Live between Us for the fist time in a long time.. the performance really is amazing and i think that tour may have been their peak in term of live shows. the band was tight and gord vocals were spot on.
although, the 1998 tour ("an evening with" tour, i believe) was pretty damn good too.
what are your thoughts? when do you think they reached their peak?
Working on a piece on the connections between The Hip and hockey and I'm looking for NHL players that are known fans of the band. I saw the Hamonic photo earlier.
Are there any other NHL players we know of that have been to Hip shows or been in photos with the band?
Just wondering what time the band has been coming on and what time the shows have been ending - want to make sure I'm there with time to spare - thanks
Some audio interviews with 90's GD: https://earofnewt.com/2016/08/06/the-gor...=hootsuite
What are the chances of someone having a pair of tickets for Kingston that they are willing to sell to a long time hip fan?
Please contact if so. I can't imagine not being at the show.
Cheers
