hey guys, i know we have some similar posts already but i thought i would start a new one and let you know of the latest painting i was asked to do...

this was the first one, for those of you who missed it


and this is the latest, that someone asked me to paint last week


i will be posting them on eBay to sell, curious to see what i can get...if anything, i suppose..lol...so maybe take a gander over there in the next few days, once its posted i'll post a link as well

the size of these paintings is, 11"x17", they were both done in Corel Painter, as i am a Graphic Designer, computer generated art is my specialty

if anyone wants to make a trade for a poster or something else, i would be willing to listen

The record industry has done its best to clamp down on downloading. Now music publishers intend to clamp down on tab sites:

Do tab sites really cut into music publishers' profits?

Considering the number of artists for whom no sheet music or tab book is ever published, and considering that online "tab" mostly provides only the chords, I doubt it. Sure, some online tab is copied from tab books, but that's the minority.

Seems to me that the music publishers are falling prey to the same error that the record industry has, in thinking that tab sites must represent a giant untapped market to which they want exclusive access.

I like both, but mixing the two does not really appeal to me...

Probably the best song I've heard in nearly a decade. Nothing's really blown me away like that since "Ahead By a Century." Different types of songs to be certain, but both have a quality that I can't describe but makes them stand about 12ft above all the other contemporay stuff on the radio.

"Good Life" and "Sharks" are kinda like that for me too... but this Matt Mays and his "Cocaine Cowgirl" kick some serious, serious ass in a hard rocking way.

The Spades are playing in Toronto @ The Rivoli - Saturday December 17th doors @9pm should be a rockin show - you have to see the band live to get the full effect of what they are about

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Richard Pryor, the caustic yet perceptive actor-comedian who lived dangerously close to the edge both on stage and off, has died, his ex-wife said Saturday.
He was 65.
Pryor died of a heart attack at his home in the San Fernando Valley sometime late Friday or early Saturday, Flyn Pryor said.

I didn't know this until I was pretending to be interested whilst hitting on an Irish girl, and it's probably already been up here a million times, but here's a million and one in case anybody missed it:

"...Rest your weary arms 'cept at sevens at yer sides"

Sevens at your sides is an Irish dance term. When dancing in the traditional Irish style: the first thing to remember is that at all times during the dance your arms must be straight and held down by your sides (like a soldier at attention) The "sevens step" is a bound or hop step to the left or right, in the same way that a window washer would need to push off with the legs in order to shift left to right across a window pane.

Apparently, "sevens at your sides!" is what teachers yell to people learning the step for the first time who can't remember to keep their arms in place.

Nifty.
