a band that gets little to no recognition...for me it would be Gomez...album after album of consistent, bluesy, eclectic, brilliant music...and one of the greatest live acts i've ever seen

Canadian Olympic Gear Made In.....China???

so i was shopping for clothes the other day, and i came upon some pretty sweet looking threads...hoodies, t's, sweaters, toques, etc. it was the team canada gear from the upcoming winter games. i was all set to pick up a nice hoodie, then i looked at the tag....

(i usually try to buy goods made in canada first, then if it's not made in canada, i might buy something made in the US, ireland, aus, etc.)

anyway, not that i'm surprised that the gear was made in china, but some of the proceeds from the sales were going toward the athletes and the canadian olympic team. i'd really like to support the team and get a nice hoodie to support my country while i'm at it, but not if it's made in china.

is it something that should have been kept "all canadian", or just a sign o' the times?

any other canucks be hesitant to buy team canada gear made in china? just curious...

Hey gang, Ive never had to make a cover letter before, but Im trying for a new position at work and I need to make a cover letter to hand into the HR people to go with my resume and reference letter. So I need to know, what do I say, how do I say it? Also what not to say or do? Any tips or help would be great. I havent done a web search yet, I never know if what Im reading is reliable or not, if anyone knows a site thats helpful that would be good too. Thanks.

The main listings and entertainment magazine in London, Time Out, has an ad in this week for The Hip's Shepherd's Bush show. It features some fairly "psychedelic" artwork that I've certainly never seen before -- a little bit 60s looking, bright red and shows an eye within a pattern around it (that's pretty bad description).

However, it made me think this could be the first indication as to what the new album's artwork might be like? i don't have a scanner, but it anyone else in London can scan it, I'm sure it would be of interest to people here.

It's good to see they're at least getting the word out, because i remember when they were here in 2002, i thought it was strange it was that they didn't seem to advertise anywhere.

On another London note, I recommend going to <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk">www.ticketmaster.co.uk</a><!-- w --> quick to get your tickets. they seem to be charging £17.50 a ticket, while tickeweb.co.uk and wayahead.com are both charging £22.50 for the same tickets. It's probably a ticketmaster mistake, but might as well benefit while their cheap -- that's what i did.
