well were to start, but how do you tell people that something i is not right
should you
. blurt it out ( sort of rip the bandage right off)
hint around it let them guess
or not tell them at all

i choose blurt it out and when it comes out it will sound very bad.
so here goes i found out this week that i have tyroid cancer. i have not gone to the oncologist yet but my wife works at that hospital Roswell Park cancer institute so she has found the best for this type of cancer for me.

the prognosis is very good in that it is not suppose to move anywhere else besides the thyroid ,( but each case is different) so surgery to remove the thyroid is most likely coming up this summer ( no hip shows for awhile)

shouldn't need chemo or radiation ( i hope) would be put on thyroid medication

sorry to lay this on all of you but i feel i know alot of you even though it is only through this forum

This may be a bit late in posting --- but I'm going in for an MRI tomorrow & I'm feeling a bit nervous. I know 3 things - it's a closed MRI, it will last aprox. 45 minutes, and I can bring a CD (hip of course).

Have any of you had one before?... I've heard horror stories from a couple friends while others have had no problems.

Anyway, fingers crossed that nothing weird shows up. I'm sure it will be fine.

OK - we have had no updates lately.

The Last we saw of them was about a month ago recording in Toronto with Bob Rock.
And all we got were pictures from TheHip.com.

I kinda assume the album will be released in August.
Why do I assume - yes - because I AM an ass.

So what is going on?
How are the jams going?
What do we get on the summer dates?
Songs in progress and almost complete like another Roadside from 1998, and New Years in 2000?
Or do we actually get finalized songs from the album?

How far along are they?

Are they "trying out" some songs on the summer dates to see if they fit?
Are they songs in progress like the old days when in concert they would play new songs to see if the stick like before the release of Day For Night and Trouble At The Henhouse?

Come on MAv, we need an update.

Like the old days when we got emails saying:
"Hey, how ya doing? We are in the studio now recording some kick ass songs - and we plan on mastering in the next couple of weeks?

So does this put an end to all the AC/DC rumors, at least for this year? Or will they have a rock festival as well?

For those who haven't already heard, on Saturday August 19th, there is a huge ass country concert at the Magnetic Hill Concert Site in Moncton. Sugarland, George Canynon, Brooks & Dunn, and Alan Jackson, with more possibly to be announced. Not really a country fan myself, i was disappointed when i first heard this on the radio, as i was hoping for more of the same from last year (Rolling Stones/Tragically Hip/Our Lady Peace/etc.), maybe something along the lines of AC/DC, Black Crowes and such. One of the few country acts i like though are Brooks & Dunn and i've always wanted to see them live, so i might go over. I think it'd be kinda cool to see Alan Jackson live as well.

This is an 8 disc set of all Garcia. Mixed with much love using Vegas Pro 3.0. Selections are taken from The Grateful Dead, Reconstruction, Legion of Mary, JGB & Garcia/Grisman.
