hey all, i am looking for an image from the past...... i used to have a tales from... shirt, lost over the years, but i am looking for the image that was on the back, it was a dude on a target with a fish in his mouth. i'm sure almost everyone here has seen it, i am looking to have a graphic made of it for my explorer, gonna look (as dane cook says) B.A!

Police arrest DJ Star after radio rants

DJ Envy (above), his wife, Gia Casey, and their 4-year-old daughter were target of racist and violent on-air remarks by Troi Torain of Power 105.1. Yesterday, Gia Casey rallied for Torain's arrest.

A syndicated hip-hop disc jockey was arrested Friday on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child amid an uproar over his on-air racial and sexual rants about a radio rival's wife and 4-year-old daughter.

Police officials had launched a hate crime investigation of DJ Star on Thursday after reviewing a transcript of his recent remarks about DJ Envy and his family.

DJ Star, whose real name is Troi Torain, was contacted by police on Friday and ordered to surrender a 9mm handgun and target practice permit at Police Headquarters. When he arrived, he was arrested and taken to the 1st Precinct stationhouse in lower Manhattan, said police spokesman Paul Browne.

The arrest capped a bad week for Torain.


After city Councilman John C. Liu and other outraged elected officials called a press conference to publicly scold Torain, he was fired on Wednesday from his job at Clear Channel Radio's Power 105.1 FM. Clear Channel, a unit of Clear Channel Communications Inc., said it found his statements "wholly unacceptable."

Not satisfied, the politicians demanded a criminal investigation - and immediately got one.

"This is a real consequence for Torain and sends a real message to other would-be racist pedophile radio stooges that they are not immune from the law," Liu said in a statement.

A call to Torain's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, was not immediately returned. The lawyer had apologized on behalf of his client on Thursday, calling the remarks "unsuitable and inappropriate."

In the comments, made between May 3 and Monday, Torain - co-host of the "Star & Buc Wild Morning Show" - offered $500 to any listener who could provide information about the rival DJ's daughter's school and used racial slurs when talking about his wife, who is part Asian.

"I will come for your kids," Torain said, according to transcribed excerpts provided by Liu's office. "I finally got the information on his slant-eyed, whore wife."

Torain also called the couple's child a "little half a lo mein eater" and said he wanted to "do an R. Kelly on your seed, on your little baby girl. I would like to tinkle on her," according to the excerpts.

The comments apparently alluded to videotapes in 2002 showing a man bearing a strong resemblance to singer R. Kelly having sex with someone who appeared to be an underage girl and then urinating on her.

Torain and his half brother, Timothy Joseph, or Buc Wild, hosted Hot 97's morning drive time show beginning in 2000 and joined Clear Channel Radio in March 2004. They began working at Power 105 in January 2005.

Their show aired in markets including Philadelphia, Miami and Richmond, Va

Why is that I can buy books online at chapters and save a ton of money versus buying them at the book store.

I understand the notion of discounts but I just bought 4 books and saved over 100.00. I love the deal but I just dont get it.

It is because of Amazon and other competition?

My daughter, who is exactly 1 week shy of being 2 years old, cracks me up on a continual basis. She is aware now that she is funny, or at least she knows how to make mom and dad laugh, and does so often. She is a also very social person, and will talk to adults and kids where ever we are.

We play music in our house all the time, and our daughter is already developing an appreciation for it and requests certain discs that she wants to hear. A particular favorite is "Toots & The Maytals"...some really awesome, old school reggae. The other day we were out and about, and she starts singing "5446, That's My Number". Picture this, her and I are in the library, and out of the blue she exclaims, "Give it to me, 1 time...huh. Give it to me, 2 times...huh, huh", in her sweet, little pixie voice. People gave us an odd look, and I couldn't do anything but laugh and sing the song with her.

On another outing, her and my wife came to watch me play volleyball. While I was on the court, I guess she looked over at a lady who was at the neighbouring table and said to her, "Telly's funny" (In a voice that would suggest that that information was a given). Telly monster of Sesame Street fame, of course, who she adores and thinks is pretty darn funny, and wants eveybody to know that she thinks he's funny.

haven't really watched all that much lately, cause it just wasn't that good anymore....but i must say tonights final episode was great. It was funny, touching, heartwarming and a perfect farewell

I picked up a copy of the 'Locked...' single off e-bay last week, with the album version and live versions of courage and locked (both on the same track) from the Horsehoe in 1992...problem is, the live track seems to be running a tad slow. Does anyone else have this disc with the same problem?

(It's kind of weird listening to Gord speak in sloooow mooootion...)

Hey Folks, it's been along time since I've posted anything.
I just recently moved back to the Kingston "AREA" for a new job. It's nice to be back in this neck of the woods again (Best bass fishin' around)

Anyhow I just got a Call on my cell (it was just a hang up no one on the other end, but the number came up, so I decided to look up the number to see who it was, and low and behold it was listed as GORD SINCLAIR, no the odds of GORD being listed are very RARE, I just found it ammusing is all. Anyhow...that's my story and I'm sticking to it Smile
