The disc is called "When the Angels Make Contact",and it'll be in stores Oct. 31st. I was reading Exclaim Magazine today and I came across an ad for it. His first two albums were amazing, so I'm really looking forward to hearing this. I knew he was working on a new one, but I had no idea it was coming out so soon.

Hey there, not really trying to use this as a dating service but i think i have an extra ticket for the monday (october 23) show at the phoenix. I've been to 4 hip shows this year and have kinda tapped out my friends for going to hip shows this year. 29 year old guy from waterloo, anyone interested , i will know for sure if i have an extra by tomorrow.

Has anyone heard anything about whether the upcoming shows will be in the Evening With... format (like the Music @ Work Tour)... or regular shows? I'm guessing they'll play longer than 90 minutes with there being no opener.

I was at the Sports Media Canada award luncheon today, and talked briefly to Dave Hodge, an award recipient (I got an award too...sorry, I just won't again get to mention myself and a great broadcaster like Hodge in the same sentence again).
Since I heard him on the edge yesterday, I decided to ask him about the Hip album. "For me, they can do no wrong," he told me. He said he had only listened to the new album twice, and indicated he liked the older stuff better, but still enjoyed the new one. I confessed to having trouble with it, but was warming to it, but noted it was definitely different. "Well that's Bob Rock's influence," he said, with a glance that I'd look to interpret as "knowing." Anyway, he was super-friendly, and seems like a pretty genuine guy. We discussed which shows we were going to this week. He's going Sunday, I'm going Wednesday. He seemed excited, saying the way to see them is in a club, not an arena.

Anyway, thought I'd share that here. He seemed to have a genuine passion for our little band.

Been on for a half hour already, I'm surprised there isn't a topic already about it!
