For one night only, on Monday, April 6th, Cineplex Entertainment presents The Tragically Hip - Live and Intimate from the Bathouse Studio. This Big Screen event will feature live performances, Q & A and exclusive footage of the band’s studio and home base, The Bathouse. George Stroumboulopous will host the event and interview the band between live cuts from We Are The Same and classic favourites.

Tickets are available at Cineplex starting on March 20th. Tickets are $20.95 for the performance, or $21.95 that also includes a copy of We Are The Same.

Stay tuned for a full list of over 80 participating theatres across the country.

Love is a First is flying up the countdown. I t debued last week at #18 and climbed all the way up to #2 this week on Radioandrecords.com I smell a number 1 hit next week!!

Anybody here live in this area or know about this place, perhaps seen a show there before?

I was going over the concert listings and this one struck me as curious, I checked the web and found the site for the museum and its quite a place. Looking at the maps Im assuming this will be an outdoors show, anybody have an info about this place..like how many people it holds, will it be outdoors/indoors, is it worth the drive or is it even at the museum or somewhere nearby off the grounds?

Seems like an unusual tour stop unless this place is more popular than I think, anyone here going to this show?

I think they should play on the deck of the Ticonderoga, that would rock. Would make for a crazy road trip anyhow.

Pretty interesting read about how how Sam's "Detroit '67" and John Rich's (aka the non-big portion of Big N Rich) "Shutting Detroit Down" have really struck a nerve in Motor City.

In discussions on popular culture, the idea of America's fascination with itself has come up frequently. If I was in full academic mode, I could probably provide citations, but it's not to be, so hopefully you'll bare with me. In short, several arguments have talked about how good or bad, Americans want to hear or see themselves, in movie, in song and other art forms. The Guess Who's "American Woman" is a great example. Hardly a shinning reflection of US cultural and society in the late '60s, yet easily one of the bigger classic rock songs of the 1970s internationally.

So why didn't New Orleans is Sinking take off? Well, that's the question for the ages. Maybe if it had been written and recorded as Katrina hit, it might be a different story.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to see the extra press for SRB. The song is a killer track that I'm really glad snuck onto radio in Canada this summer, and is a highlight of a strong record. Kudos to the band. No mention of Kid Rock though, sadly.

Alright so when I go in April 7th I was plannin on buying a Downie solo album Ive never heard either one before. Which one do you guys prefer? Does Coke Machine Glow come with his poetry or whatever?

Oh and do the Hip only have one live album available through record stores?

There were two specifically I was thinking of. One had a bunch of song meanings on it. Kind of gave you a background on all the songs and the inspiration behind them.

Also, there was another one for bootlegs, where you could just type in this password and get the shows. I got a few from there, but now can't remember them.
