I really dont care for rap or eminem, but you have to laugh at that video..especially @ 2:56 the pink alf shirt and cake, that was clever.

Match-up #24 - Daredevil Vs. Flamenco
I ask you to listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.

As always, you can hear both songs played back to back streaming online at http://www.power97.com at 11PM CST, 12AM EST.

Hey, I wanted to get a thread to throw out our crazy ideas about what the songs and Gord's lyrics mean, and to discuss the unifying theme of "We Are The Same." I know screw_ball has a really good analysis of The Depression Suite and Gord's relationship to the listener that is clever and (gasp) coherent, but i'll let him post it.

As for me, my non-Canadian self needs to ask a couple questions:

-Who is "Honey Watson," and does she have any relation to the other 'honey's throughout the record. Someone mentioned that they explained in the Bathouse vid what NTSHAN means, does it tie into that?

-What the hell does "and Athalasca depends" mean? Is this some Canadian place full of meaning I don't get?

Anybody know what happened to the track being recorded at the end of the 2nd Bathouse video?

I was really hoping that bad boy would make it onto the release.

Hey guys,

Just a heads up theres an amazing 2 page spread interview with Gord Downie in the April 13th Macleans Issue. They ask him about the new album, Canada, Environmental Issues, Hockey, etc.

Read it!

Between all the banter about the Bathouse cinema feature (which I had no opportunity to see), the WATS leak (which I refused to download), the WATS album (which i have not heard yet, and don't even HAVE yet, thanks to the wonderful concept of "album pre-ordering"...), and the two bonus tracks (haven't heard 'em either, of course), I truly feel like I've "stepped out of the wilderness, all squint-eyed and confused".

I'm on the outside looking in.

Or stateside looking north.

Or something.

Maybe I'll just go away until that damn record hits my mailbox.

Sad
