Match-up #51 - Don't Wake Daddy Vs. Scared
Listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.

I program a 3 hour radioshow on http://www.radiojohnson.net from 2-5PM EST every Monday called Soulgazers and Hellraisers. The show is a mix of stuff from Rheostatics to The Hip and from Tom Waits to Marillion with the likes of Gomez, Elbow, Wilco, Kate Bush, Rickie Lee Jones, Sloan, Teenage Fanclub, Genesis, Porcupine Tree, Dada, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, FIshbone, Supergrasss etc along the way.
For next Monday's show I was going to select my favorite song from each Hip album to play but I thought maybe it would be fun to see what everyone else thought and play them instead. So....

From today through Sunday at 6PM EST list your favorite song from each studio album. I'll tally and program the winning selections in succession on the Monday show in celebration of the Massey Hall shows of which I'm attending 4 of the 6.

Here are my picks - use the template, copy and change your selections. (P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong forum but it seemed right to me).

EP - Small Town Bringdown
Up To Here - Opiated
Road Apples - Fight
Fully Completely - Fully Completely
Day For Night - Titanic Terrarium
Trouble At The Henhouse - Sherpa
Phantom Power - Emperor Penguin
Music @ Work - The Completists
In Violet Light - The Darkest One
In Between Evolution - It Can't Be Nashville Every Night
Yer Favorites: No Threat or The New Maybe - The New Maybe
World Container - World Container
We Are The Same - The Depression Suite

We've discussed the "flub" in The Depression Suite and I think there's still a split on what the sound is... however I think I found another flub. At 2:27 of Morning Moon, is that the sound of beer bottles clanging together?

Hands down one of the best concert films I've ever seen. This band is absolutely brilliant live, and this DVD does a fantastic job of capturing these guys in full flight. Killer versions of Impossible Germany, Kingpin, Shot in the Arm, At Least That's What You Said, and Monday, among others. It also features lots of cool backstage footage and interviews with each band member.
