Well, it was only a matter of time until some psycho that wants 15 seconds of reality fame turned out to be a real psycho.

VH1 has some reality show called Megan Wants A Millionaire and one of the contestants allegedly killed his ex-wife.
Her body was found Aug. 15 in a suitcase that had been dumped in a trash bin in California.
She had been strangled and her teeth and fingers were removed and she was identified by the serial number of her breast implants.

He crossed over on foot to Canada last week and his body was found today in an apparent suicide.

VH1 has pulled Millionaire and another upcoming reality show that he was on.

I'm a little surprised that nobody has posted about this yet (at least not that I could find), but the Beatles are reissuing their entire catalog on September 9. What do you all think? Excited? Indifferent? Ticked off that EMI will make us buy the stereo and mono albums separately (if you're geeky enough to want both stereo and mono)?

I'm a pretty big Beatles nerd, and already have their entire discography on CD (as well as most of their vinyl), but I may be compelled to pick up at least "Pepper," "Revolver," and "Abbey Road" (about all I can afford at this point). I'm a little curious as to how much "improved" the sound will be, if it is indeed improved. I hope that these reissues aren't a ripoff, and the sound isn't simply compressed and made louder under the guise of "improved" sound (as seems to be the case with a lot of "remastered" albums these days).

Anyway, I don't want to pretend to be a big audiophile, because I'm really not. Any thoughts out there about these Beatles reissues? Curious to hear what your thoughts are...

Highlights from this years Hard Rock Calling festival premiers tonight on VH1 at 9 Eastern.

This look at one of the biggest concert events of the summer in London's Hyde Park features Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band covering the Clash's "London Calling" and performing "Rosalita." Other performers include Neil Young, the Pretenders, the Dave Matthews Band, the Killers, James Morrison and Ben Harper.

The 2009 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is about to get even sweeter for music fans, since Neil Young and Joan Baez will both be in town to promote films at two free events in Yonge-Dundas Square.

Young will appear on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. for the North American premiere of The Neil Young Trunk Show, the Jonathan Demme-directed (The Silence Of The Lambs, Philadelphia) film which examines Young's stage show. Demme will be on hand to host the screening.

The Neil Young Trunk Show had its world premiere at Austin, Texas' South By South West Music Festival in March.

Baez will be at Yonge-Dundas Square four days later for the world premiere of American Masters — Joan Baez, a new documentary which will be shown on PBS later this year.

TIFF co-director Cameron Bailey told the Toronto Star that although Young and Baez will be at Yonge-Dundas Square to promote their films, "they'll probably play guitars."

In addition to Baez and Young, the Canadian Music Cafe will be held Sept. 15 to 17 at the Hard Rock Cafe next to Yonge-Dundas Square. Arkells, Spiral Beach, Stars' Amy Millan, Hawksley Workman and USS are among those who will showcase their tunes for festival-goers.

Meanwhile, Young will be honoured with the MusiCares Person Of The Year award at a pre-Grammy Awards event on Jan. 29.

Young is receiving the award for his musical and philanthropic work. Young co-founded the Farm Aid with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp in 1985. It was originally a benefit show, but has since grown to become an organization that works to raise awareness of the importance of farms.

Young and his wife, Pegi Young, also hold the annual Bridge School Benefit Concert for the Mountain View, Calif. Bridge School, which provides support for children with physical impairments and complex communications needs.

The 2010 Grammy Awards will be held Jan. 31 in Los Angeles.


Haha all you non-GTA suckers lol. I read about this in the Toronto Star this morning, they were emphasizing that there would be preformances by Neil Young and Joan Baez, this article just hints towards it. Either way, sounds like the chances are good for some free Neil!

Thought some people here would be interested in this DVD being released August 25.

Polytechnique
This film from Canadian director Denis Villeneuve is a victim-centred recounting of the horrific events of the December 6, 1989, massacre at Montreal’s Ecole Polytechnique.
