Just listened to the Alan Cross interview with Paul, and he sounds pretty confident that a new Hip record will be released in 2011. Says the guys are all in a good head space, jamming, having fun, and the goal is "let's go in and make a killer record." Says they have a two month window right now where they'll be able to get a lot done. No mention of a producer, so I get the impression that they're producing it themselves. Sounds very promising. Here's the interview:

Stripper’s Union has a new album recorded called The Deuce, and the first single “Making Strange” went to radio yesterday (January 10)

Would anyone happen to have a copy Phil Lesh performing with Wilco?
A friend of mine at work is a big fan of both, and I promised id ask around for him.
thanks

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where people can list any albums they've heard might be coming out this year that they are looking forward to.
Fleet Foxes - should be completed by now but no release date announced
Sam Roberts - album completed but no release date announced
Rush - 2 new songs available now, album should follow shortly
The Arkells - April or May
Speculation
The Hip
White Stripes
Just wishing everyone here all the best for 2011.
Also hoping that this new year is filled with more Hip-ness than 2010.....

Quote:Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles – The Grand Bounce
It’s too bad this record was released just seconds too late to capture any real support for a 2010 Polaris Music Prize. Gord’s third solo album is exponetially better than the first two and actually more interesting than much of the Tragically Hip’s output this decade. Fans had better get used to this reality; I somehow think we shan’t be getting much more (if anything) from the Hip. Key tracks: “The East Wind,” “The Hard Canadian.”
He thinks The Hip are dead. For a guy that so many hail as an expert, when it comes to The Hip he's kinda dumb. At least this time he spells Downie correctly.
Wouldn't be posting if our Gord didn't make the list...
# 10 ) Wintersleep, New Inheritors
# 9 ) Stars, The Five Ghosts
# 8 ) New Pornographers, Together
# 7 ) Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles, The Grand Bounce
# 6 ) Yukon Blonde, Yukon Blonde
# 5 ) Hannah Georgas, This Is Good
# 4 ) Royal Wood, Waiting
# 3 ) Steven Page, Page One
# 2 ) Sarah Harmer, oh little fire
# 1 ) Arcade Fire, The Suburbs

does anyone have a copy of this i can download? i would love to hear it again.
i was going to check the tracker, but registration is closed. chris, can you set me up?
The Hip are coming to Buffalo/Lewiston this summer, this info was confirmed by two independent sources, both of these guys have been 100% accurate in the past. About a month ago i heard it was going to be Artpark for sure, but i bumped into a booker for Darien Lake at a christmas party and he claimed that the Hip are already booked for Darien Lake. Both of these guys have been dead on in the past with the only errors being that i was told the Hip would be playing 3 nights at Artpark in 2009 when it was 4 and that they would be playing the Casino in Niagara Falls, NY when it turnred out to be the Casino in Salamanca, NY.
