This list includes the least played song on each of the Hip's 13 albums. Of these songs, which would you most like to hear live?

As a follow up question, have any of you Hip fans been lucky enough to hear one or more of these rare songs in concert?

So, The Hipmhave just been announced as the headliners for Canada Day in London, with Arkells and Jann Arden supporting.

This means we get The Hip twice in as many days here in the UK, which is pretty awesome! can't wait to see what kind of sets they play both nights and what the crowd will be like in Trafalgar Square!

In the coming months, I will be self-publishing my work of non-fiction on The Tragically Hip called Escape Is At Hand-Tales of a Boy and a Band.

I've had discussions with publishing houses in Canada including ECW Press (Publishers of Have Not Been The Same) who agreed that while the manuscript was well written, entertaining and engaging, it was simply too niche a project. While I saw their point, I didn't see any reason why this book should not be released for the people it was written for (And by): the fans of The Tragically Hip.

The book details one fan's journey as he grows up following the band around the world, leaving the confines of school, family and relationships behind. I began writing the book in 2006, and it covers twenty years of being a Hip fan. It serves as a "How to" for fans; how to understand the world around you using rock and roll as a soundtrack. The journey is both hilarious and heartwarming and it's one that I'm sure everyone on this board will understand and enjoy. For the sake of comparison, it's very much in the style of Fever Pitch, Nick Hornby's first book on a fervent Arsenal fan.

The book also looks at the history of The Hip and how their career has influenced their fans and how it has impacted a culture and in a sense, created a language. This is not, however, a biography on the band. This is a story about the band from the eyes of a fan.

Portions of the book have been published in Beatroute, a monthly arts/entertainment print magazine based out of Vancouver. My writing on music has been published in the Vancouver Sun, Exclaim!, Time Out, Beat Magazine (Melbourne's weekly). This book has been professionally edited as well.

The book will be released in June on a publishing house I'm launching with two partners. What I'm trying to do, loyal 'basers, is gauge interest so I can have a better idea on a print run. The book will be competitively priced, so I'd like to just like to know who out there would be interested in buying a copy. I'm not asking you to guarantee a purchase, but I'd like to get an accurate idea of numbers as fans of The Hip are my target audience. If you could just reply with your interest, I'd really appreciate it.

The book will indeed be available as an ebook, but I'm a bit of a traditionalist in this regard and will be focusing on print to begin with.

There are currently no titles in print on The Tragically Hip. Help me change that and bring our band into the world of book publishing. Please PM me if you have any further questions. I'll be posting excerpts from the book in the coming days.
