CBC is putting on a Hockey Night in Canada Song Quest. Check it out here: http://music.cbc.ca/#/Hockey-Night-in-Canada-Song-Quest

I submitted a song with my brother and a buddy. We call ourselves 'The Swift and The Strong'. Our song is called 'Game to Game' and is about a loyal and long-suffering, but optimistic fan. Our entry is here: http://music.cbc.ca/#/artists/The-Swift-and-The-Strong

If you like it give us a (daily) vote!!!

Would anyone know the "value" of a VHS tape with the MuchMusic production of the Hip show from the Misty Moon in 1990?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Apparently the new single has been out for over a month and I didn't even know about it. Where's the publicity for this?? Anyway, the song sounds great. Can't wait to hear the full album.

Hey now....I just won HMV's Paul Langlois concert experience!

Grand Prize:

A Yamaha acoustic guitar autographed by Paul
A copy of Not Guilty also autographed
2 tickets to one of his shows (I selected the Horseshoe next Thursday)
and a meet/greet with Paul after the show!

I didn't have tickets to any of his shows this tour, so extremely excited about this!

This means I also might be able to test out my new Naiant mics......

Hey all...

Did want to start a post in the Hip section just tried to keep this one low key (no pun intended).

The Darkest One...it is driving me nuts. The chords during the verse may be something like E-D-A-E. Paul seems to play the riff in the opening verse but later as the song winds down he is jamming some chords. There is not much video available for this song and the one I have if blown up gets grainy.

Paul seems to be playing round the 9th fret, then 7th, then slides to an open chord, then down the board to the higher frets again. I can come up with some things that sound decent but as usual not quite right. The fingering looks more inverted (or sliding the open E down) as opposed to standard power chords but again with the grainy video it is hard to make out.

Can anyone provide some insight?

Dave

This photo was just posted to the Vintage Kingston Facebook group.

It's of "The Filters!" Featuring Finny McConnell, Gord Downie, Rob Baker, Kelly Campbell and Mauro Sepe. At the Lakeview manor; as I recall this would be about 1984 (thanks Finny/Mahones))

What happened? Is there any way to login to the The Hipfans.com Live Music Archive that comes up when you load what was formerly the Hip Tracker? Apologies if this is a dumb question. Thanks guys.
