This is really a great little rocker from our favourite boys. It remains one of my favourites off of In Between Evolution, and they've been known to still play it live every now and again.
Its quick, catchy, and raw as hell on the album. Johnny shines here, peaking through several layers of Hip brilliance.
It's track #2 on IBE for a reason, and track #2 on my dream setlist (because dream setlists have to have great flow)... a great follow up to New Orleans is Sinking to open a show I'd say!

So who else has gone and seen this, other than myself and Thompson Girl. ?
Such a great show, Paul came out afterwards and just hung out with us and chatted, he is so down to earth its not funny. I got a bunch of pictures and autographs from the entire band, the music was very good. But I am surprised that there is not more of us Hip fans at his shows. Whats going on?

Very hard-rockin' Sadies tonight. Gord was good, very much a "controlled" performance - no physical freak outs or fights with the mic stand. Forgot a few lyrics, but hey, first show of the tour and all that.

Entire album played, plus a few other tunes. Encore was 2 covers. I think my favourite song was Saved. Will become a killer closer by the end of the tour. Apparently more Canadian dates forthcoming.

If you only like the Hip you might not like this, but if you like this, I think you really would like this live.

Psychedelic rockabilly with a punk slant. The more I replay the show in my head, the more I realize how f'n great it was. The more I picture it, they shouldn't be playing outdoor folkie-fests. They should be playing sweaty clubs with beer stains on the floor. When you learn about the covers, which included tracks I didn't know, you realize the slant they are taking with these shows, and how perfectly suited the tracks are for the Sadies (when they go down the punk track and not the country road).

Hopefully I can get my recording up sooner rather than later for y'all. I am really digging this show.

Just listened to LBU. Noticed something that I haven't seen on hipmuseum.com or hipbase.com. Very possible that this has been discussed previously. If so...apologies. New to me. During 'The Luxury' outro at around 3:39 it sort of sounds like Gord Sinclair begins playing the bass line to 'Come As Your Are' by Nirvana. There is a definite deviation from the repetitive bass line of 'The Luxury' at that point. Has this been noticed before? - JH

I wanted to start this thread about my favourite musical festival because I think there is a lot of Hip related shows going on there this year. This is Fredericton's marquee event every year, and if anybody has ever wanted to see this amazing little city in the east, there is no better time to go than during the Harvest Jazz and Blues festival.

Downtown Fredericton becomes pedestrian only traffic, and there is a multitude of stages set up outdoors in Fredericton's historic Garrison District. The talent brought in by the festival is always inspiring. Walk in on any given show by anybody you haven't heard, and I guarantee you can be blown away. This year, they have already announced performances by Gord Downie & The Sadies, Blues Traveler, John Hammond, Arkells, Dr. John and the Joel Plaskett Emergency.

For you Emergency fans who have never seen them in the Maritimes... there's not a chance it won't become your favourite Plaskett show you've ever seen.

Apparently Mr. Downie joined Feist on stage for a while during her performance Monday at the Cohn in Halifax!
What a treat! Hope some videos surface.... that duo on stage probably kicks way too much ass.

Gord Downie will be performing as part of a benefit concert this Saturday, April 5.
