Selfish plug time...

My Bluesfest pictures website is now much bigger and much better. I've added a couple of dozen shots...more of the bluesmen I know we all love (chuckles), more popular headlining bands, and of course....more Gordon Downie and the Tragically Hip. Trying to figure out why my scanner knackered out just as I was getting near the end...I have a couple more Sarah Harmer pics to upload...maybe I burned it out! lol.

PS: I know how much we all love GeoCities (rolls eyes) and apparently there's a new problem...too many people are copying my pictures (I guess I should be complimented, but I'll be damned if I know all the HTML involved in preventing it) and from time to time the site won't work and an info screen says the site has "exceeded its allotted data transfer" for the hour...try again in less than half an hour, it never takes too long to get back up.

Hello Everyone

As chronicled on AMTH, I was shut out of the Victoria ticket bonanza.
I am looking to buy or trade for 1 ticket to the Victoria show at the Royal Theatre on Monday September 16, 2002.

I already have my tickets for Vancouver and Vernon, and I have awesome aisle seats within the first seven rows for all 3 shows so I can videotape all of them.

I would like to be able to also video the Victoria concert and get shn's of all 4 shows out to Lance's beautiful little community.

As fate would have it, I won 2 tickets to a Vancouver show before the member pre-sale, for either Sept 19 or 20 (don't know yet) and I'm willing to trade these extras for a single ticket to Victoria.

My proposal is this:
For any seat at the Royal Theatre, I will trade 1 Vancouver ticket or outright buy the ticket.
***If you have an AISLE seat available within the first 10 rows on the Orchestra level, I will trade both of the tickets I won for Vancouver or buy the ticket outright***

Hopefully someone in the community was lucky enough to get Victoria tickets and may have an extra one. If so, please let them know I'm looking.

Well, with the two Toronto shows just around the corner I thought it would be fun to see what some of you have to say about it...what will be the opener?? the encore?? Or what you would like to see played or any songs that they haven't played this tour brought out...things like that!

She was the one tripping the breaker for the lights! Tallulah Bankhead was a regular performer on the same Somerville stage in her heyday.

Someone should have known before the show where the fuse was. The lights where out for 4 or 5(?) songs. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoyed the unsuspected obstacle for the guys to endure which they did with COURAGE.

One thing I did not enjoy was the sound mix especially upstairs. Other bands in the past had PA speakers pointed up towards the balcony.

Still glad I went and got a good dose of hip!

How time flies ... go back a little over a month ago. The weds before the Fri, June 21st preimere. I am at "breakwaters" cafe and the Wizard radio station is giving away a pair of passes. I win. Couldn't be more estatic to be going to see my favorite band perform.

The band started around 10 pm after "hip hip hip" chants seemed to be endlessly chanted. They did a warm up of bobcaygeon while we were waiting in line.

We luck out, my girlfriend and I, and end up in the front row, a little off to the right. In front of me is Bob Baker, to his left Gord S. And then gordie, then paul (Johnny in the back). Very appropriate start to the gig, NOIS. ROCKING ! From beginning to end, very high energy. Gordie seemed to be charged up !

At one point, he was pretending to eat moths(bugs) that were flying around in the stage lights. Saying things like: "I haven't eaten for days"; "what are you doing here ?".

All in all a very solid performence. We even go to meet Paul, Bob, and Johnny. Paul and bob were very friendly. We hung around for an hour or so after the crowd departed and got to meet Gordie. He signed my IVL CD "Chris' Lagoon"

A very intimate setting. Very high energy. Great total band performance.
Lake Champlain was blessed for the evening. **** FOUR STARS ****
