I know a couple people here have actually been so fortuneate as to meet the Hip. I sometimes try to think what I would say to them if I met them, how would it be? What would I say!?
Perhaps its my own personal loserdom which makes me wonder these things, but I hear that the band is very easy to talk to and get along with. So to those who HAVE met the Hip, I ask how was it? What did they say to you? How did the convo start?
To those who HAVEN'T met the Hip, I ask what you would say if you met 'em at a retaurant or something.
Yes, I do have too much time on my hands. :-P

I love the new album, great mix of tracks.

Tragically Hip to perform for Queen

TORONTO -- Queen Elizabeth will be entertained by contortionists, a rock-and-roll band and a jazz pianist when she visits Toronto next month for her Golden Jubilee.
Despite an information blackout by the Prime Minister's Office, sources say the likely stars at a command performance at Roy Thomson Hall on Oct. 10 are Cirque du Soleil, The Tragically Hip and Oscar Peterson.
But finding that information is like trying to uncover a state secret, even though the taxpayers of Canada are funding the coast-to-coast Golden Jubilee tour to the tune of about $5-million.
The PMO says nothing can be released because details of the royal visit are still "in flux." Heritage Canada, which is in charge of the cultural events, says there is an "official embargo" on all information.
Even the invitation to the black-tie gala performance, from Jean Chrétien, the Prime Minister, and his wife, Aline, ma kes no mention of who will be performing.
Meanwhile, the political class in Toronto is talking about who is on the guest list. On the VIP list are Toronto Liberal MPs, fundraisers, party executives and party faithful.
More controversial invitees are members of the exclusive Laurier Club, who pay $1,000 a year to get access to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet members at private receptions.
Security is expected to be very tight at the Roy Thomson Hall gala. Guests are being asked to present photo identification at the entrance along with a numbered pass.
Cellular phones and cameras will be forbidden.

I noticed in the "Sights & Sounds" section of this page, that there is a video listed for Twist My Arm. The screen shot shows Gord's face as he floats in what appears to be a vat of cream or something. Howcome I don't ever remember seeing this video, and more importantly, why isn't it on the Enhanced HyperCD version of Road Apples?
If you where going to tell someone about Gord's rants, what would be your example?
Well, due to some truly unfortunate circumstances, I am left with ONE spare FRONT ROW CENTER* ticket for the Edmonton show this Thursday. I will die if I'm left with a $70 tab. If you're interested, you can join myself and two other VERY DEDICATED Hip fans for what will be an incredible time.
*not exactly "center"...but "right center"...however, it is in the centermost block in the RC section (i.e. seats 1-4).
