While being treated to the live feed of Sarah McLachlan’s performance, the Hip fans started getting restless. The inevitable chant of "Hip, Hip, Hip!" began and climaxed into a chorus of booing when Sarah’s set stretched longer than most expected. Ugh.
The smell of marijuana filled the air as The Tragically Hip took the stage and tore through their greatest hits. Classics such as "New Orleans Is Sinking" and "Little Bones" were matched with newer songs like "The Darkest One" and "Music At Work." The Gordfather was resplendent in all his sweaty, vein-popping glory. It was a powerful, passionate set and a great way to cap off a marathon of music. They played one encore of three songs and then it was all over.

I noticed that I have't to log in to read any of the post's. Does anyone else have this problem? Just wondering?
This might be a couple years to late but oh well. Does anyone know the names of the tracks of the unreleased songs off of Phanton Power? I saw them on the Hip Web ring a couple years back and now I can't rememer them. If anyone can help me, please reply. Thanks! Go Hip!
Just out of curiousity, why was she booed at the Skydome?? I thought that she was well liked, everywhere? Was it just that the group of fans at the Skydome were a bit too rowdy for the more mellow music at the ACC?? I am confused
cratch:
IS THIS THE FIRST TIME THE HIP HAVE PLAYED THE SKYDOME?
cratch:
Please share!
thx
High
Simulcast was bad idea.. 2 differnt kinds of music..put everyone to sleep in between acts..yawn
Swollen Memeber--i missed them due to the fact i had to take a goddamn train from oakville after the bus from burlighton after we drive to burlighton. :x
Sum 41-LOUD---- Really similar to green day in all aspects..
OLP-- Had sound trouble in 1st song rest of set was really good
AVril ----LOUDER__ My ears hurt still, thanks avril for wanting for vocals so damn high that there was distortion fromthe speakers.
BnL -- these guys know how to put on a show... i recommend u try them out. I loved the SARS routine. (The boys put on masks and did the chicken dance then made us spell out S-A-R-S.."what are we going to do.. Quaritine!")
Im surprised the crowd chant (HIP HIP) was that loud! And i couldnt beleive that the entire skydome booed Sarah Mc. when she came to do her encore. A lot of people were sleeping around me..
TTH- Highlights- Gord comes out with white tux jacket on, his white shirt underneath. Grace starts us off and gord gets into right away by using the mic stand as an oar to paddle the boat (the stage was elevated) Rants were good, heard most of them. Twist my arm.. are u kidding me , they havent played that song in a while and it was sooo nice to see something that not expected. Poets and 100th were really done well, good life just got in the way slowing an up beat set, rest of the set was Fantanstic. Lots of rants and in Little bones a guy actually jumped on stage only to get tackled by security, gord ranting about how he was able to keep the football away from him!!!!
Overall a terrific 14 song set, no one was expecting that many, however they did get on stage 15 min before they were scheduled.
Whatever "Ballroom" is too bad they didnt play it...but nevertheless
GREAT SHOW
Just got back from my 4th hip show in the last year and before i went everyone said the soud in the dome was garbage but I thought it sounded great except for a few glitches. Hip rocked the place of course! It brought back memories of woodstock 99 with all them people. well a great time cool people! when is the next show? can't wait!
....also anyone else think olp and sum41 put on realy great shows?
I just realized it was today, well actually yesterday now. Hope you had a good one, High!!
