theres a week break in schedule for them this week i think, so maybe the make-up date will be sooner than later? Hopefully!!!!!

Hey everyone, I'm considering buying a DVD burner and I need some advice.

I have a Panasonic DVD player which 'officially' only plays DVD-R's. The instruction manual recommends using only a Panasonic DVD-R burner and only DVD-R's. Therefore, I'm definitely considering a DVD-R burner, which is very expensive.

Funny thing is, all of the DVD's I have received from Peter (livehip.com) are FujiFilm DVD+R's, and they all play fine in my DVD player. I've contacted Peter to see what format of burner he has (-R or +R), but he hasn't been able to respond yet.

Does anyone know what format of DVD burner Peter bought when he started the DVD club?
Does anyone know what format Peter burns all the DVD's in?
Does this mean that I can buy a DVD+R burner (much less expensive) and burn DVD+R's that will play fine?

I've stumbled around DVDhelp.com but haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Suggestions, anyone? Thx

I recall reading this really great artircle/interview with Gord some time ago, we're talking 1996! Well, after doing some much needed spring cleaning, I came across it again...I chuckled when I read this part about Gord and his dreams...

And they got me into this room and cornered me, and I managed to knock out two of them, I don't know how. But the third guy had me dead to rights. He had a gun pointed to my head and he was going to shoot. And then the door, which had swung open, all the sudden swung back, and hiding behind it was Leonard Cohen, who shot the guy in the forehead. I said, "Thanks!" and he said, "no problem". So I don't know about dreams... they're fascinating if I can remember them and get them on paper - some people do that, but I'm not very good at that.

Just listening to NOIS way too loud, and heard something I'd never heard before. Right near the end of the song, as the final guitar notes are repeating, if you listen closely, you can hear some one say, "Can't get much better than that!" :mrgreen:

Okay, so I saw the Tragically Hip 3 times in New York City, twice at Irving Plaza and once in Central Park

Haven't see 'em since then...maybe 4 or 5 years.

Was thinking of driving all the way from St. Louis to Barrie (and perhaps Ottowa for the Gord show) in order to see them again. It's only 1400Km.

Is Edgefest a looney bin? Will I be able to see and hear them well? Will it be worth it? What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?

Saw the thread regarding a private show, and would DIG that BIG TIME. Haven't been to Toronto in 15 years. Would I do well to bring my bicycle up to Algonquin Park in the first week of September? Ride around and dodge the Moose?

Love to hook up with some Hipsters and see a show...let me know your opinions on Edgefest

I figure that now is the time to start something, if people are interested, as we have a few months (?) to get organized.

Would people be interested in putting together a tour book, from the fans point of view? A professionally produced book that chronicals the tour, from the fans point of view, with different people submitting their stories, pics, reviews of each show.

After each show, people compile their thoughts/photos/reviews, and submit them. These are then layed out, into the book, and so it goes.

We can come up with the basic specs ahead of time, and get the costs - take orders up front, payment via Paypal, etc., - and send it out after the tour.

I think that within the fanbase here, we can get the project done; and there are definitely enough fans who would be willing to buy, if the price is right. In the spirit of bootlegs, this is a non-profit venture.

I assume this would need to be OK'd by the band - but if the support is there, I think they would go for it.

I am a sales rep at a large printing company in Toronto, and have access/the ability to keep the printing/production costs way down.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'll let you make that decision.
