HAMBURG (AP) - A German bar is offering women who want to go shopping without their partners the chance to park them at what it bills as the country's first kindergarten for men.

For the equivalent of about $15 Cdn, the Nox Bar in downtown Hamburg is offering games and home-improvement coaching as well as a meal and two beers for men left there for a Saturday afternoon, while women are free to shop in the city's swanky boutiques.

So far, the "Maennergarten" has been a hit, with 20 men taking part the first week, and 27 last Saturday, bar manager Alexander Stein said Tuesday.

"Many of the guys see it as just a gag, but then were surprised to find they got on really well with the others," Stein said.

The bar plans new attractions, such as miniature car racing and cocktail courses.

"Whether we keep it going depends on who comes when the buzz dies down," Stein said. "Some of our regulars have put their head round the door and recoiled in horror."

This is pretty bad, I would be upset if I was a man!

Happy Birthday Mats, my Hip blood brother! I still remember the GREAT time we had at Edgefest, and looking forward to hooking up with you on the next Hip tour.

I hope you know you are one year from your life being half over. Myself, I'm on the downside and picking up speed. Another year older, another year wiser....we'll see.

Good luck to the Leafs, unless they play the Wings. If your team needs some goaltending help this year, I know a guy who might be interested in returning there. He was treated shabbly by management after an average but decent season.

Say hello to all your friends I met at Edgefest. I'm sure they'll show you a good time after work today, and remember to take the subway home. Have fun. I'm glad I met you and we'll get together again and jam to The Hip.

Hey all,

I've burned and copied the Barrie 2003 show successfully. So it's ready to start trading the trading.

So if you've got some Hip DVD's, please send over a list - they're priority since I have only 2, and a few more coming in. I still need a bunch of audio shows so feel free to send a list over to me if yo want the Barrie show.

I'll do some B+P's once the smoke has settled

Cheers,

Craig

Hey everyone...

Rory Young here. After 8 years of trading bootlegs, I'm hanging up the skates. Different priorities have edged their way into my life, and I have no time to maintain all the trades etc that it takes to keep up. That being said, I would like to get rid of my entire bootleg collection... that's right.. all of my shows. Most are on cassette tape, and there are quite a few on CD as well. I am only looking to cover most of the cost of the tapes and CD's themselves, so this collection must go to a serious fan. There are 334 tapes, and about 100 CD's, give or take, so it is a big undertaking. If anyone is interested, please send me a private email at:
wpghipfan@hotmail.com

The torch passes to...?

Thanks, all...

Rory

Just thought I'd see if there were any other hipfans that have picked up the new Kings of Leon disc Youth and Young Manhood...its their debut and its really good. Kind of a southern version of the strokes mixed with Stereophonics...in my opinion. Check out the tracks California Waiting and Red Morning Light if you are bored and looking for decent new tunes...oh and of course download Into Your Hideout by Pilate...new Canadian band

Let me know what you think

Jesse (Stickboy)
