A man in Edmonton claims to have seen the Tragically Hip 67 times starting with a 'surprise' show at the Sidetrack Cafe in 1995 - 68 times counting the upcoming Feb. 12 show at the local hockey arena. He has never looked into whether or not in fact he is the biggest Hiphead in Canada. Can anyone top that number? It's not a competition. With the iconic Canadian band The Tragically Hip making an appearance on the west coast this week (February 4 in Victoria, and February 6 in Vancouver), local Vancouver band The Naturals have decided to pay tribute with a special Hip-themed Rockaoke night at FanClub this Thursday, February 5th at 9pm. The band has been working on a “Baker’s Dozen” (get it?) of selected Hip songs for their ever-growing list, as well as all the other classics they’ve worked on over the last year. That’s over 400 songs to choose from if you want to get up and sing with a real live band!

In fact, one of the key features of the The Natural’s brand of Rockaoke is the band’s use of themed months and evenings. It's what we do and why we thought of trying out a Hip-themed night, as it not only encourages the band to learn new material, but give incentives for singers to try new songs out on stage. The Naturals have a theme for every month – from “Pearl Jamuary” to “AC/DCember” – and so will be doing a special “Twelve Months of Rockaoke” set on Thursday that highlights a song from each month. You’re NOT going to want to miss this incredible night of fun times, and with no cover charge, we’re basically daring you to come check it out!

Hey does anybody have any of the Gord Downie and The Sadies shows from this past summer? I would like to download a few of the shows, ie video, I recorded 3 of the shows in audio and I only have 1 of the shows on dvd , that being Burlington. I was wondering if anybody had any more shows to share? :thumb: Or maybe any of the Paul Langlois shows on video to share, I have the Waterloo show and would not mind getting another one from that tour. Anybody? :thumb:

I have seen the band well over 100 times ( my wife says I have a problem!) but the recent Burlington show was the first time that I have seen them where I knew exactly what song was coming next and I have to say that it spoiled something for me. There was always that sense of anticipation before the first notes of the next song were played and then you recognized it. That is gone for the middle section of the show on this tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the band and Gord's vocals sounded great (no screaming!!) but this element kind of took something away from the fun. What do you guys think about the album tour concept??

This gives me huge NIN vibes, and is rockin and catchy as fuck all the way through. I'll admit, I'm not a huge Manson fan by any stretch, but The Pale Emperor may be the launch pad I needed to get into his back-catalog.
