thought this would be a good place to start a thread where people list some bands others may not know about ..i'll start..

ween..at first, people write them off as juvenile and a "joke band"..look further and you'll discover brilliance

gomez...greatest use of 3 singers in the same band EVER...bluesy,rocking,soft and the dreaded (much over used-term but appropriate here...) ECCLECTIC

morphine...losing mark sandman was a tragedy to music that went mostly unnoticed...bass...drums..vocals..sax...sexy....

I have heard there were 3 tracks not put on the album. Will they be released possibly on the Hip Club? Does anyone know?

Hugh23 from the U.S. of A.

Finally got to meet him (and his family) at the Wasaga show and I can't say enough about this guys energy, emotion, love for the band, their music and their fans. If you ever get the opportunity to meet this guy, do it. It'll be well worth it.

Thanks again for your hospitality at Wasaga, and for making our weekend that much better! :thumb:

So...... this might sound silly. Do I need a passport? This is a serious question. I'm flying to Saskatoon next Thrusday. Do I need a passport? I have gotten mixed answers on the internet.

Unfortunately, there's been a death in the family, so I'm just in and out before jumping on a plane, but I wanted to post this here as opposed to tacking it on the review thread.

Hugh is the man. The oldest 19-year-old I've ever met. Folks, THIS guy is a fan, and a gracious and generous host. If Hugh ever offers you anything folks, take him up on it... as my buddy Shannon said: "Hugh's a party." Hugh, to you and your whole crew: thanks so much.

And to Chris (I hope you can work with the footage you've got, regardless of chicks on shoulders Smile ) and the D-man and everybody else I met who I'm too worn out to remember right now: It was so great, and I hope to catch ya on the road again soon.

If there was any doubt that this was the best site on the net, or that the greatest fans are Hip fans, a Hip Trip get-together is a solid reminder of why I love this band and this bunch of fans so much.

Thanks to everybody! Happy Belated Birthday Hughie! Hope everybody had as much of a blast as we did. "We'll Go Too!" Can ya believe it? Smile

Alright... time to go shake out the sand...

And hey Shannon: Post the Peacock pic! Smile

Just wondering if any of you fellow Hip'ies out there have heard of or have posted any guitar tabs for any of the new songs off of IBE??? www.guitartabs.cc is the best on line tab site I've come across over the years.

Josephine would be a nice one on the acoustic as would Are we Family...for the electric lovers out there..I'm looking forward to jamming out Makeshift.

Hopefully together we can come up with some tabs so that everyone can enjoy playing these songs as much as we all love listening to them.
