Well folks, this IS the revolution.

This clips pretty old, and much has happened since the 2nd, but for those who are oblivious to the goings on here in Vancouver, this gives you the basics.

Since being raided by the VPD on Sept.9, the shop has been (illegally) re-opened, and back to business. This defiance is a huge step, pushing towards the inevitable full-blown legalization of marijuana in Canada. Just a bit more time, and this issue will be pushed completely over the edge.

To anyone wondering (particularly in the US) how this open defiance of the law could possibly be happening, basically the the judicial rammifications are so inconsequential (in regards to the cultivation, sale, and consumption of marijuana) that penalties are virtually non-existent here.

Vancouver is (generally) a very "laid-back", socially progressive society, and time has proven that this issue is fast becoming tolerated and accepted.

The may of Vancouver, Larry Campbell has even stopped just short of endorsing the goings on of this cafe. He is fully supportive of legalization, not only for the social implications this holds (disempowering organized crime, implementing health and safety regulations in similar fashion to alcohol and tobacco) but for generating revenue for the sole purpose of funding health care.

Its inevitable, it makes sense. Stigmas come and go, its time to move forward.

Anyone else sitting at home NOT watching a Hip concert at the present moment(which is 8:00pm approx.)?

What a mess. I'm not much of a Bills fan, but I do follow them since they're the closest we have to a Canadian team. Geez, you just new they were going to fall apart. Even at 4th and 1, you new that 46 yard pass was going to be caught. You knew the Jaguars were going to score at 4th and 1 with 2 seconds on the clock. It's aggravating to watch a team self destruct. Week 1? Can't have a better effort than that, with a new coach,playing a non-playoff team?

Too bad the Raiders couldn't pull it off, but at least they gave a hell of an effort.

Just wondering if anyone has some good links to sites with free avatars. I am getting a little bitter trying to resize pics to fit into 80x80 pixel and be less than 7kb. If anyone can help out I would be very happy.
