Hello all. New to the forum here and was just wondering if there is any boot or soundboard of the Across the Causeway show??

As far as trading goes, I don'nt have much Hip, but I do have some good Stones stuff if anyone is interested......

So, I receive my Ottawa tickets in the mail today...

In the top right corner of each ticket reads BUCKY. That was the Hip club pre-sale password. There were 3 or 4 different pre-sales for this concert, and they were all listed under ticketmaster. I wonder why mine say BUCKY? Perhaps only Hip Club members could snag floor seats? Or perhaps the BUCKY seats were reserved for the Hip Club? I don't get it.

Did anyone buy tickets from another pre-sale for the Ottawa show?

Is there anything better than cranking a great live album, feeling the energy and screaming along with the masses? For my money, Joe Cocker's Woodstock version of "A little help from my friends" is the greatest live song on record.

Something about the romance, vibe and atmosphere of that era, that history, that late summer moment on a soggy New York farm with Joe forcing that song from his soul... it really grabs me.

So what's your favourite live song?

Hi folks. As some of you may or may not know, I'm an English/Secondary English Education major in my junior year. This means that I'm right in the middle of my student teaching and tutoring/mentoring. I had field experience last year, and have worked around children since I have been of an appropriate ago to do so. I love kids. I love English, books, and writing. I love teaching. However, today, my mold of naivety and excitment was broken. I'm currently working in a Middle School (Grades 6-8th) in a low income section of Syracuse. I have never encountered so many frustrated teachers, apathetic parents, and impossible children. This morning I sat in on a math literacry class. Within the first ten minutes, one 6th grader yelled across the room to the teacher, "Ms. K, why you gotta be so mean and make us do this bullshit?". She calmly replied, "Because basic math is an important necessity." She continued with her lesson through a number of fights among students (both verbal and physical), and countless complaints from students who, "Just want to be in college so [they] won't have to work". One student, when frustrated with his work, stood up and screamed, "I don't have to f***ing do anything. F*** you teachers. F*** your work, you dumbass bitches can kiss my ass". The student I was set to tutor the second half of the period (and spent 3-4 hours drawing on specialized lesson plans for) left the class to go visit another teacher, under the pretense of having to use the bathroom. He returned with five minutes of class left. One student said that she would "cut my ass" if I came near he desk again. The awful truth of this is that issues like this happen in so many classrooms so often. When the students were asked if their parents would be attending the open house scheduled for tonight, many responded that their parents "didn't want to" or were "too busy with other stuff". Now, I may be slightly bias, as a libral and a teacher, but I do not see how certain reform plans, like The No Child Left Behind Act, will do anything to fix this problem. Parental interest and discipline need to return, or education, formal and otherwise, will continue in a downward trend. [/end rant].

Hi, has anyone ever done any work on Tommy Douglas- leader of CCF/NDP party and father of medicare. If so, how would you characterize his influence on Canada? Why, through what Tommy did in the past, has Canada benefitted today? Why has politics benefitted thru the impact of Tommy Douglas? Any help would be great- opinions, facts, essays, etc- just looking for a variety of ideas that I can tie together in a paper in a Canadian History course. Thanks again folks

Whats the story on the quality of tickets being released for the pre-sales? Is it like pearl jam where they give the best possible seats to fan club or some other ticketmaster ones where its just a random section and not neccessarily the best seats?

Here's a fun forum topic. Someone starts out with something they have done (the this) and then something they haven't done (the that). The person who responds has to have done "the that" in order to continue the thread.
