Nothing announced yet. Thought I would start a thread though.
Remember, don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

There's a chance this new treatment which is for the exact type of terminal brain cancer Gord has could help him. Let's do whatever we can to get this to the right people so Gord or the appropriate parties see it and look into it...
Hope to see some people checkin. Love you all over here.
Can't thank you guys enough for that, and taking me under your wings for a highly irresponsible trip around Atlantic Canada fall of 2007. That was one hell of a trip.
Darren, Rory, Lance. Thanks.
And Brent.... fuck dude. Those shows were epic. Thanks buddy.
I find it deep and profound that their live album was released 19 years ago...today.
The "Hip live between us" had so many meanings, and now so many more.
I found out in late march and have been processing it for a while. shattered, gutted, tears shed, happy, remembering and wanting more.
Gord wants to do the tour - his idea really and I think it will help him and the band and us as well. It is brave and pure and emotional and it will be sad and happy, sad and happy this may and june, may and june.
A World possessed and Tired as Fuck were poignant and deep. Go look at the video of World possessed again. Note one of Gord's brothers is the actor in it and not really acting but maybe reflecting. deep and meaningful for all.
I know this tour will be hard. My wife has already given me a pass to watch as much of it as I can. I will try and do just that and it would be really nice to meet as many of you as possible and have a kumbaya moment. raise a glass and toast the moment and reflect and hope.
peace to Gord and his family and his band, his family band. And peace to the fans who have stayed with this magic man and band.
Let's keep the faith.
Hello friends.
We have some very tough news to share with you today, and we wish it wasn’t so.
A few months ago, in December, Gord Downie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
Since then, obviously, he’s endured a lot of difficult times, and he has been fighting hard. In privacy along with his family, and through all of this, we’ve been standing by him.
So after 30-some years together as The Tragically Hip, thousands of shows, and hundreds of tours…
We’ve decided to do another one.
This feels like the right thing to do now, for Gord, and for all of us.
What we in The Hip receive, each time we play together, is a connection; with each other; with music and it’s magic; and during the shows, a special connection with all of you, our incredible fans.
So, we’re going to dig deep, and try to make this our best tour yet.
We hope you can come out and join us this summer – details and dates will be coming this week.
And we sincerely thank all of you, for your continued love and support,
Paul, GordD, Johnny, Rob, GordS

Hey, it's been awhile since I have visited and as a result of my lack of visits my old account has been disabled. Any chance of getting it back up and running? If an admin could send me a PM I can provide old details. I just couldn't find any other way to contact one.
Thank you!

Anyone hear anything from Gord Downie lately? A while back I heard a (hopefully unfounded) rumor about his health, and I really thought nothing of it, but then he wasn't at a big Waterkeepers event, he wasn't at the honorary degree ceremony, and I've been worried about how quiet tour talk has been.
Hip Base: begin crushing these rumors....NOW!
Best news I've heard all week! A full Canadian tour is probably not likely, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll at least hit Vancouver. Details here:

In related news, Peter Garrett's debut solo album is coming out this July. First single sounds great. Very Midnight Oil-esque of course, but there's a bit of the Clash in there as well. I like it.
