Over a thousand uniforms and several badges worn by airport screeners have gone missing, sparking fears that terrorists may have gotten their hands on the items.

Despite increased security measures after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a report says earlier this year 1,127 outfits disappeared; over 200 of them bore the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (C.A.T.S.A.) logo, the federal agency in charge of maintaining safe air travel.

The report claims that 91 metal security badges, called shields, also went missing. Officials are worried that if these items have fallen into the wrong hands, they could make it very easy to impersonate a member of an airport's security staff.

Apparently, one of the uniforms turned up on the auction site EBay. C.A.T.S.A. claims a person can’t gain access to a restricted area of an airport with a uniform alone.

Since The Sam Roberts Band toured with the Hip I've become a big fan of theirs. Anyway, I noticed that on a "Best of" show from MTV's Boiling Points Sam Roberts' "Where Have All The Good People Gone" was playing in the background. It played during a clip where the hosts were introducing the next segment. Needless to say, I was shocked! It was really cool because I'm not used to hearing such high quality music on MTV, Go Sam!!

...its the cats ass! finished my x-mas shopping today in about an hour and i didn`t even have to go out into the blizzardlike conditions we went through today :thumb:

I think it really sucks that all the contests run from the hip official site can only be entered if you are from Canada. then the times that singles can be bought via the internet, again, can only be obtained if you are a Canadian resident.
i think the hip's management give the worldwide fans a slap across the face when they dont enable ALL the hip fans a chance at winning contests.

sitting at work, and wanna play a tune that's not heard on the radio all that often..any ideas?

i will state that the unreleased tunes i don't have at work today, so no get back again...

If anyone has noticed my increased activity on hipbase, I feel the need to explain that it is for one reason: end of semester work. I am currently putting off a couple sets of unit plans that I just don't have the energy to work on any longer. Is anoyone else dealing with the final crush of work before holiday break? If so, how are the rest of the hipbasers (mis)using their time?

Hey everyone... Every time I try to find a page with tabs, I get loaded with viruses. Does anyone know of a private database with current tabs that I can go to?

Any of you guys ever hear of this, teased in stereo down under? I created a Tea Party bootleg from a MuchMusic I&I 6 years ago, it is real good quality and I lstened to it a lot back then, but I kinda forgot all about it. About a month ago I got an email from a dude in Australia who loves the Tea Party and had a copy of my show. He applied "Tisdu" to it and wanted to send me a copy since it was my show. I got it last week and it really sounds great, especially cranked up.

Here's a "how to" about it, scroll down to the How To [tisdu] to read about it. The short and sweet is that you add 5 100ths of a second silence to the beginning of every right channel. This gives an airy, large kinda sound to the show.

I'm gonna try this to some of my Hip shows. Purists, you don't have to worry, I have no intentions of distributing any of the shows I do this to, it's more for my own curiosity.
