Hello fellow Hipbasers,

A few of you have been asking about a Bruins jersey that I recently purchased. If any of you were at the New Year's Eve bash in the Hammer, then you may have seen me and noticed the jersey I was wearing.

The shirt that I dawned was a Boston Bruins jersey (third jersey - you know - the one with the bear on it). On the back of the jersey is Downie and the number is 4. Since Gord D. is a Bruins fan and seeing that I am a huge fan of the Hip and hockey (although not a fan of the Boston Bruins - I root for the Dallas Stars - yes - don't ask), I thought it appropriate to dawn Downie's name on the back of this jersey. The reason I chose the third jersey is because Gord D. used to wear a yellow Bruins hat that also had a picture of the bear. Last time I saw him wearing it, it was pretty beat up. And why the number 4? Two reasons. First, it was the number worn by one of the greatest, if not the greatest hockey player of all-time, Mr. Bobby Orr, of which Gord D. is a huge fan. And, secondly, it represents the year of the Hip for me. Before this tour, I had seen 7 shows dating back to 1999. On this tour alone, I saw 8 shows, plus the Grey Cup, which happened at the last minute. On that note, I do intend to post a Year in Review of my Hip adventures. But for now, here's the jersey. We'll I tried to attach the pics, but I guess I can't do that right now. If, and when this becomes possible, let me know and I'll post.

If the rumours come true and the Hip do have a second leg of their IBE tour, I am now "Locked and Loaded" with a new digital video camera
(x-mas gift) to film any Boston shows...

I'm crushed nobody captured the 2004 show at Avalon but fear not!...
Scott in Boston (i.e."Locked") with be your Hipbase correspondent/ filmographer for all future Boston Hip shows....

The Wedge had their annual top 10 videos of the year on Friday night. Best hour of T.V. I've seen in a long time. Here they are:

DMB fans, this show is definately worth downloading. I got it last night and listened to a bit of it on the way to work and I'm blown away at the sound quality of the recording and the sound of the band themselves. I listened to the 17:10 minute version of Jimi Thing...spectacular. I can't wait for disc 2 where Neil Young joins them for Cortez The Killer and Rockin In The Free World.

Hugh Dillon has a new band - The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir.

Having been at work at the Bathouse Studio in Kingston with producer Paul Langlois (from The Tragically Hip), mixing duties performed by Adam Kasper (Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters), The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir has just completed their debut album - The High Cost of Low Living.

With a new band at Dillon's back (Chris Osti, Derek Downham, Ben Kobayashi and JP Polsoni), The High Cost of Low Living features a blistering collection of new songs.

Tearing through rock's back pages and borrowing from country, pop, punk and new wave, HDRC has blended Dillon's musical eclecticism - without foregoing the very essence of everything that rock 'n roll means.

1. I'm starting to see a lot of seed requests for the tracker. In light of this, I was thinking that I could start a mailing list that could be used for this purpose, instead of posting the requests here at Hipbase. (or in addition to...) This could be used to ask for new shows, or for someone to reseed a torrent that has died.

A lot of the tracker members are not Hipbasers (or at least not regulars) which might speed up the process in getting someone to reseed.

2. I have been searching/testing out new tracker software and think that I have found a better option for the site. The only downside is that I may lose the current user/torrent database. The new site software is what <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.easytree.org">www.easytree.org</a><!-- w --> is running.

I just ripped and burned the Kumbaya festival & the Pink Pop Festival (95) on a dvd (no menus)...........

If anybody wants to trade for this show for some IBE dvd's, get in touch!
Also this dvd is on -R (not the +R). SO make sure your burner can support this! (my dvd player can't) GRRRRR

just pulled out my "scared" cd single, and had forgotten how cool these versions really are..a slowed down daredevil, and a faster so hard...going on my next hip mix for sure..any thoughts on these versions?
