I don't know if this has ever been noted before, but was just browsing around the set lists on The Hip's website, and came across a list of unreleased songs. I don't think there's anything to read into this - I think it's just a by-product of the setlists that are included for the various shows and a need to categorize the songs into albums, but thought it was interesting nonetheless...

A number of the songs have lyrics listed too if you click on the song link. I don't think there's anything revelatory in here, but it's neat to see the list.

For some reason this rubs me the wrong way. I think its going to the press with these plans when they havent even consulted the band yet ....plus, the lack of a large outdoor venue was never the problem. If the band wants to do a large outdoor free show, they could make it happen im sure. I can just see how this will be spun when it doesnt happen ...."the band doesnt want to play for free".

Someone posted an article here about why fans can't get the best tickets and one reason is that the artists or their management often list the tickets on the secondary market.

I wouldn't blame them if they did it but if it was them I'd rather it was instead of some group of scumbags scalping tickets.

Just booked a room at Queen's University Residences for $50. The lady I spoke to said there weren't many rooms left for the 20th.
Pretty good price for a bed/breakfast walking distance from the K-Rock center.

I also bought a ticket for the Kingston Penn tour for Sunday morning. Not many of those left either.

I was talking about this with my buddy and we couldn't decide if they would go with an old standby or if they'd go off the page with something that they really love playing but might be a little more obscure.

I'm thinking it'll be the latter...I'm going Little Bones.

Maybe we can do some kind of 50/50 fundraiser where you kick in $5 or $10 for a guess and whoever gets it right goes into a draw for 50% of the pot and the other half goes to Gord's Cancer fund. Could be fun...just a thought.

Hey All,
I was wondering who might be interested in having the old HipBase tshirt reprinted so we can order new ones?!!! I know mine from years ago was worn till it was paper thin.

Lance? Any thoughts on making this a reality?!

A group of us based on facebook will be throwing Pre-Parties in every city this tour. I really wanted to make sure you guys are aware of it. We need you to come out.

Pearl Jam fans have been throwing these types of pre-show fan gatherings for a decade. I have been involved in those since the start.

The parties involve raffles. Fans bring donations of Hip related merch, or basically anything music related. (Vinyl Packages, Posters, Record Store Gift Certificates, etc.) Tickets are purchased for a chance at the items. There are Tragically Hip themed drinks and menus, music playing, possibly some videos depending on the PA system. It's a chance to share stories and hang out with like minded Hip fans. Sadly this may be the only chance we get to ever do this.

***ALL MONEY RAISED will BENEFIT the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research through the Sunnybrook Foundation***

I am throwing the Sunday Vancouver show, I have a venue confirmed. The ball is rolling.

Maybe we can get this tagged or sticky to the top or whatever. Hope to see you there.

There is an event on facebook created for every party so far, but it is still in the early stages.

This is the link to the closed group for organizers. Just ask to join. We need people on board and the Titanic Terrarium should be ground zero, as this is the place to find the people who really care.

GET INVOLVED, for the band and Gord.

Thanks

This is whats driving me nuts about the whole situation... since nothing is being done with all other paths, lets blame the band! ARGHHH
