'Compilation' Poll
Dear Friends,
Recently we've been writing and jamming in the studio - working on new material which we're pretty excited about. There have been many rumours floating around about the release of a Compilation package later this Fall. This indeed is in the works. We're hoping to get your feedback on which tracks should appear. We will be running a Poll on Sympatico MSN for individuals to vote on their Top 10 tracks that we've recorded. However, prior to this going live, we are opening this up to those of you on our mailing list. Your opinion is important to us. If you have a few minutes, please click on the link below and choose your all-time favourite Top 10 tracks from The Hip. Once the polling ends, we'll review the results and use this as a guide for compiling the Compilation package.

i just listened to Fighter Fighter today for the first time in quite some time, and i have to say, i forgot how much i really love this song, and how shocked i am that it didn't make the cut for IBE, if it were up to me i would've stuck it in between Copenhagen and Family. it really is a fantastic song, and for some reason the live version i have came across very pearl jam-ish, anyone else ever think that?

Alright, I often read the board and I've noticed that when one person asks for song interpretations people get a little... iffy. But, when members were debating on the true meaning of Nautical Disaster awhile ago (Bismarck or relationship... etc... ) a wide variety of ideas were presented and I was able to see the song from completely new perspectives. I believe that sharing various ideas about a song meaning can strengthen one's appreciation for the lyrics...

So please bear with me and please help me!

I have always wanted to know what other people thought Grace, too was about.. I once heard a brilliant interpretation of the song, but I wasn't listening at the time and I don't remember what it was. :oops:

A music industry friend of mine just told me that Gord has been invited to be a speaker at ideaCity2005 here in Toronto.

Just curious about it.

I received an e-mail from the Sarnia Bayfest announcing that The Tragically Hip will play on July 17, 2005 with The Spades and Death of Eight. Finger Eleven plays an afternoon concert at the same venue and then The Hip play at night.

Go to the following link for more info. The date for the sale of tickets is not announced yet. (Don't The Hip have a date scheduled the day before in PEI?)
