I was just wondering if there are any plans to set back up/update the setlist archive. It would be nice for all the Hip's 2005 appearances to be filled in, IMO.

Anyone living in the Buffalo area, this question is for you...

Do you know of any half decent hotels/motels in the Orchard Park area? Going to the game on the 27th of Nov., and am in need of some reasonably priced accomodations.

The last time I was there we stayed at the Orchard Park Inn, but we were just guys, and I would not subject my wife to a place like that.

Suggestions?

Seasons 5 and 6 are being released seperately, and as a gift set, on November 22nd!!! The gift set will include a replica of the Puffy Shirt...

I don't think Eddie's ever sounded better 2 hours and 45 minutes...an hour and a half of encores. Finale of Baba and Yellow Ledbetter...one of the best shows I've ever seen!!!

I've been tring to find this for some time, anybody have it?

I went to the Saturday night show. I got there about half way through Slaon's set. I was near the back for most of what I saw of Sloan and the sound wasn't very good from that far back, but I dunno how it sounded closer to the front.

Finger Eleven put on a great show! They were the main reason that I went to the show. They opened up with a cover of Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine, and played most of their better known tunes. I was hoping for maybe a Rainbow Butt Monkeys tune, but like every other time I've seen them, they didn't play anything from the RBM days. They played a new song that they have been working on, and the guitarist played a double neck guitar on this one. It took me a while to realize that the top neck was a 6 string guitar and the bottom neck was a 4 string bass. He played most of the song on the guitar, but played the solo part on the bass (which sounded really cool with his distorted guitar tone.) These guys had a ton of energy! The one guitarist was swinging his guitar all over the place and playing it over his head (and pretty much every which way but the normal way of playing!)

Our Lady Peace came on, and IMO couldn't follow up Finger Eleven's set. Raine's vocals on older stuff like Starseed and Naveed didn't sound good at all. We left near the end of Naveed, so we could catch the shuttlebus back to the parking lot before the big rush started. I've seen OLP 5 or 6 times, and I wasn't really impressed at all this time. The highlight of their set was a song about George Bush. At the start of the song, Raine said something like "Fuck George Bush" and then I heard some guy yell out "you shouldn't use your celebrity to spread political propaganda!" I had to chuckle a little when I heard that.

Overall, I would say that Finger Eleven stole the show (the crowd around me seemed to agree, cuz they were totally dead for OLP.)

I was talking to friends that were at the Friday night show, and I guess the singer for Simple Plan got smoked with a full bottle of water and had to leave to get stitches, so their set got cut short (I guess that's what Simple Plan gets for going onstage after Sum 41.)

I've been able to get the first few tracks, but haven't been able to log onto any of the ftp's for a couple of weeks. Anyone have an update on this. I did a torrent search and didn't find one. any info wold be appreciated.

So I picked up the latest issue of Chart Magazine today just for something to read, and I came across something rather hilarious in the letters to the editor section. I'm thinkin' one of the fine ladies here at the Hipbase must be the author. Here it is, and I quote:

"First of all, awesome magazine. I've been getting the issues for a while. I only have one suggestion and I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me. More Tragically Hip! They are one of the best definitions of Canadian music, they do amazing live shows AND unlike most bands, all five members are do-able. I mean, come on, who wouldn't bed Gord Downie? To sum it up, get a few extra articles and pictures in. ESPECIALLY if Gordie and the boys have their shirts off or something. Get a picture of Gord Downie without his shirt!! Do it!
