From the Buffalo news article about Max Afinogenov:

"He is unbelievable with the puck," said Tim Connolly, himself a terrific puckhandler. "Sometimes, he'll beat a guy two or three times before they even realize that they're beat. He'll turn them inside out, they'll turn around, he'll go the other way, they'll turn back around. It's like he can stickhandle around you in a phone booth."

First and foremost, i'm not sure if you guys are aware of it or not, but the Capital Commission is encouraging people to email them to tell them which bands they want to see play at the Festival of the Lights in Charlottetown this summer. I've already emailed them a few times over the winter lobbying for the Hip.

Anyways, i'm also a huge Bryan Adams fan (the concert Wednesday night was incredible btw), and i've been a member of his fanclub for as long as i can remember. Following the concert the other night i went to the members board on his site, and a member from Montague posted that her son who now lives in Halifax, his band was approached the other day about possibly being the first act on the second night of the FOTL, opening for "The Tragically Hip and another band". No idea if there is any truth behind this at all, but something definitely worth keeping an eye on & i've got my fingers crossed...maybe they've finally given in to my emails demanding the Hip

In an effort to keep up with all of the Hip news, I'm looking for a few people who would like to be bloggers on hipfans.com

The Black Crowes, Drive-By Truckers and Robert Randolph & the Family Band! This is gonna be one helluva rock show.

Hopefully we'll see BC for 2hrs, DBT 1.5 hrs and RR for 1hr.

at 90 min that is a very abbreviated set for DBT but well worth it to see them with the Crowes.

Last weekend Rock 101 here in Vancouver ran a TTH A-to-B Side weekend and featured a song or two each hour as well as a random live track every few hours.

I was able to capture three live cuts : ABAC from Woodstock (easy to pick-out), plus Locked & Cordelia. The problem is they didn't give any info as to where these two tracks were recorded. I'm hoping some folks here could shed some light so I've uploaded MP3's of each in hopes that some might recognize which shows they're from.

Cordelia is 3mb and has no rants from Gord to help narrow down a date.

i keep hearing rumours about a Stratford Ontario show in September at the Ovation 06 weekend. Last year's weekend outdoor :jump festival here was an absolute blast with our lady peace , sloan, hedley , sum41, k-os, fefe dobson, barenaked ladies, simple plan, and a bunch of others all playing during the weekend. Its all I've been hearing about now since it ended last fall...TTH coming to Stratford ! Anyone know if its true ? I hope it is ...this will be the weekend event of 2006 if its true ! Everyone come to Stratford !!! 8)
