...blew my mind..what a great show..an amazing band they've got, and the energy was out of the world...for about 15 minutes before they even got on stage the crowd were doing the wave and getting louder, and louder..it was so contagious...the Chicks hit the stage to the music of "hail to the chief" which was quite funny...they sounded so fucking good..i was blown away by their stage presence, and how incredible natalie maines sounds live...when i die, i want my angel to sound like her!! she had some pretty funny things to say about the election, and rumsfeld stepping down...best line of the night.."nobody likes a nasty bush"..if you EVER get a chance to see them live, DO IT!! :thumb:

I'm thinking about getting an iPod shuffle from the Apple store online. I want to engrave it with a Hip lyric. Right now I'm trying to decide between:

(a) Sound that makes the headphones edible

and

(b) Your imagination's having puppies

I'm leaning towards (b) because I like Something On more than I like Save The Planet, but I think (a) is a more appropriate lyric given that, you know, it's an iPod.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I thought it might be fun to share this story..

My girlfriend and I met in the front row of the July 6th, 2003 Gord show at the Ottawa Bluesfest. I used that ol' line that countless men have used throughout the ages: "Would you like me to email you the pictures I'll be taking with my digital camera?". Take notes kids, it worked like a charm.

Fast forward over three years, I decided that it was time to ask my lovely lady for her hand in marriage. I'd always wanted to have an intimate Hip show somehow be a part of the proposal and the Commodore shows in Vancouver seemed like a winner.

So, Friday morning I surprised her at her work with her bags all packed and whisked her off to the airport. She had absolutely no idea about the trip... truly a complete shock. We lined up at the Commodore shortly before 6:00 and were the first to the front of the stage, and parked ourselves between Paul and Gord's monitors. When the show started, it was clear that proposing while drunk, sweaty men yelling "GORDIEEEEEEEE" at the top of their lungs draped themselves over my girlfriend and I wasn't the world's best idea. So, as Blow finished (yes, "how she moved so fast into that wedding ring" was not lost upon me...), we walked back to our hotel room where I proposed, with ring in hand, with Stanley Park and North Vancouver in the background. I must have done something right, because she said yes.

The second Fiddler's Green in 15 years and a "yes" in one evening. Not too shabby.

We were front row for the next night too, between the Gords. Our mini west coast experience ended with Johnny giving me his sticks after Verge. Nice.

We'll be hitting up Montreal tomorrow, and if all goes well, should be near the front of the line. Should be a good one! Hope to see some of you there!

anyone else think its cheesy that the hip are selling gord hats ?

...just got an e-mail that states OSHAWA is getting The Hip for 2 nights instead of 1.

Not realy big news or n e thing, but while watching OFF the Record today with john ferguson and other GM's, coming back from one of the commercials they showed leafs highlights with 50MC in the background....ya i am bored so i posted this

Can anyone explain the significance to the song Chagrin Falls.
I lived very close to Chagrin Falls, OH for about 8 years and have been there many times.
