inspired by the recent acoustic Foo Fighters tour/dvd/cd...

and by the Sausalito radio show (probably my favourite bootleg)...what are the chances of the hip doing this sometime...for at least a full length concert, if not, a whole (or mini) tour? they certainly have enough material to do make it work, and i definately think it's something that fans would enjoy, especially if it meant playing in smaller venues with better acoustics...

thoughts? comments? predictions? dream setlists?

i can't wait...got season tickets couple weeks ago. peddie was on off the record the other day and said they've hit 5,200 season tickets, already surpassing expectations. this is gonna rule.

I remember in high school where my friends and I would debate at lunch whether Golf should be considered a professional sport...or just a game. I remember a lot of people having little respect for the skill level that is required for Golf.

Maybe a better question is, what makes/defines a 'sport' or 'game'?

What do you guys think?

i am now convinced that canadian tire money is the greatest marketing tool ever invented.

why?

because no matter how hard you try, you can NEVER get rid of it. for example: i had $1.25 in CT money in my wallet and used it when i was in the store last time. my total was $40 and i gave the cashier my 2 twenties and my CT money. she then gives me $1.25 in change and another 40cents in canadian tire money.

i only ended up spending 85cents of the original $1.25 that i had.

now i am stuck with this. and the next time i use it, i will just get more back.

but i will keep trying to spend it, and therefore, i will spend more money in their store.

marketing genius.

Last night at my Christmas party I was getting harrassed about my music selection (which is decent, in my bias opinion). Then it came out that I had attended 3 of the 4 Hip shows in calgary. During the conversation I made a comment in regards to the crapiness that is Nickleback. At which point a girl asked me how I can like the Hip but not Nickleback beacuse QUoTE" They are basically the same thing."

I did not know how to respond in a "professional matter" due to the fact that it was my office christmas party. Had it been anywhere outside of earshot of my boss I would have given her a piece of my mind...

Just thought I'd share my brush with ignorance...
