I would just like to say that Frank Zappa kicks ass, and this thread is dedicated to how much ass he kicks.

Now I pose a question. Is Zappa a fucking genius, of God himself with the coolest mustasche ever?

I love Zappa, and so should you.

This former NBA player has come out AFTER his playing career as being gay. I personally think Amaechi should be condemned for this action. I don't think he should be condemned for being gay, but he should be condemned for not having the courage to come out as AN ACTIVE PLAYER and for MAKING MONEY FROM IT! Basically, he wrote a book and is profiting from being gay. I didn't know being gay was an accomplishment worthy of financial reward. I think Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade should come out with a book called, "I AM A HETEROSEXUAL" and they should promote the book and make money off of it. It would only be fair.

I haven't watched it yet, but I figured I'd tell you that its there. I'm going to go watch it now. Later!

Every week Sam is going through the old tapes to pull out a gem -- which is exactly what this week's tune is. "For The Ladies" was originally on the Brother Down record (a demo that barely made it out of Montreal, and is not being traded among fans at the band's request)

Anyway, this is a solid older track, very Brit Pop piano heavy. Enjoy!

Boston, Chicago will rock festival

Boston, Godsmack and Chicago are some of the bands coming to Rock Fest this summer near Cadott, organizers announced this morning.

Rock Fest is scheduled for July 19-22 at 24447 Highway S, five miles north of Cadott.

Classic rock band Boston will headline opening night. alternative rockers Godsmack will headline the following evening.

This is the tentative schedule released so far:

Thursday, July 19
4:30 p.m. Dennis DeYoung.

6:30 p.m. The Mick Fleetwood Band.

8:45 p.m. Deep Purple.

11 p.m. Boston.

Friday, July 20

4:15 p.m. Uncle Kracker.

6:30 p.m. Grand Funk Railroad.

11 p.m. Godsmack.

Saturday, July 21

2:15 p.m. Cross Canadian Ragweed.

4:15 p.m. Tragically Hip.

The song Amos Moses by Jerry Reed?
I was sifting through my parents vinyl collection the other day and put on the song "Amos Moses". It was a classic southern rock tune that seemed to portray a story, similar to a rant that occurs during a Tragically Hip concert. Upon closely listening to the lyrics, I realized that these lyrics could have possibly influenced Gord Downie's Killerwhale Tank rant during a rendition of "New Orleans is Sinking". Here are the lyrics of Amos Moses, and a comparison to the Killerwhaletank Rant:

1. He hunted alligator for a living - Killerwhaletank also involves occupations: e.x. I had a job before this... I was a Clean and Scrub Man.

3. Amos Moses is from south Louisiana - The killerwhaletank rant is played during New Orleans is Sinking... New Orleans happens to be located in southern Louisiana.

So what are your thoughts? Pure coincidence or an absolute influence into the rant we all know and love?
