What gem would you love to hear?

Hey folks...

My buddy is Winnipeg has finally unearthed some video footage him and I took in 2000 and 2002. In my hot little hands, I have the hi-8 masters of 11/27/00 Saskatoon, 11/28/00 Brandon, 10/01/02 Winnipeg, and 10/02/02 Winnipeg. At this very moment, I am transferring them direct onto DVD (ie: no menus, editing, etc). If anyone would like to master them, (Chris, do you still do this?) reply here of PM me. These MUST get out to the masses.

After being introduced to some new bands by reading other peoples reviews in other threads. I thought it would be a cool idea to have a thread dedicated to either "new" bands that are on the verge, or maybe some bands that you dont think are as widely known as they should be.

I'm sure in different parts of the world there are hundreds of bands that could be listed in all sorts of music genres, so maybe if we set it up like this...

1.Name of Band
2.Name of CD we should be checking out
3.Genre/similar bands comparable

Some bands may get lots of airplay in your neck of the woods, but maybe not in others, so go easy if you dont think this band is "NEW". I'm sure there is someone out there who hasnt heard of em..

Hey All,

I wanted to post this on here in the hopes of spreading the word for this project. It is being produced, directed and starred in by a very close friend of mine, someone I have known since I was 9, he is an incredibly talented artist and has done a fair bit of tv work as well...commericals, pilots etc etc.

He's been working on this concept for a number of years and has finally put together a short trailer/teaser in the hopes of drumming up some interest and hopefully some start-up funding.

This is a case of the little guy looking for his shot.

it's only 1:45 long...and I figured if some people spent 7:40 watching Bonner do a terrible grade school dance off (sorry Sean) you will at least take the time to watch this...it's done quite well in my opinion.

Let me know what you think...if anyone is more intersted I can fill you in with more details.

Reuters Wrote:BOGOTA, Colombia (Reuters) -- Two clowns were shot and killed by an unidentified gunman during their performance at a traveling circus in the eastern Colombian town of Cucuta, police said Wednesday.

The gunman burst into the Circo del Sol de Cali on Monday night and shot the clowns in front of an audience of 20 to 50 people, local police chief Jose Humberto Henao told Reuters.

One of the clowns was killed instantly, and the second died the next day in hospital.

"The killings had nothing to do with the show the victims were performing at the time of the incident," Henao said in a telephone interview. "We are investigating the motive."

With an entrance fee of under 50 cents, Circo del Sol de Cali attracts mostly poor Colombians. It pitched its tents in Cucuta, near the border with Venezuela, earlier this month.

"The clowns came out to give their show, and then this guy came out shooting them," one audience member told local television. "It was terrible."

I was wondering if there are any other non album tracks recorded in good quality (b-sides etc...) other than the 2 on Yer Favourates (No Threat & New Maybe) and the 3 In Violet Light section songs (Ultra Mudane, Problem Bears and Forest Edge).

I have those 5 tracks and would like to collect some more to create a CD for myself. Any Info and links to MP3's very welcome.
