With the Current Writers strike going on it is a great time to catch up on TV shows on DVD that you may have not known about or never bothered to watch.
A friend of my wife lent us Firefly. What a fantastic show that is, it is really to bad that no one watched it when it was on, a great Sci Fi western.
Also starting to watch the first season of Dexter. Great stuff as well.

Anyone else have any suggestions???

I watched the tribute that SNL ran on the weekend, and man this guy was funny.

I was browsing in a used CD/Record store today and picked up a 2 CD package of the September 16th 2000 War Child Concert in Winnipeg. Does anyone know who was behind putting this out? The sound is amazing!

i know there are some outtakes from IVL that were available for a short time, and there are phantom power demos I think. ANything else?

Hey Folks,

I've been cruising Youtube trying to figure out one performance I can show a bunch of friends to turn them on to the hip. It's a hard deal, because they haven't heard the hip (at least not extensively) before, and attention span, like any good 20something, is short.

Anyhow, I thought I'd come to you friends as a sounding board for what you think would be some of the best performances to lure in new fans. I'm open to just about anything, although I do caution that our ears are trained to find the hidden melody's in the muffled audio of live recordings, and I think a more crisp audio is a pre-req.

Good, not great, selection for this year's gift. It's nonetheless exciting to get good quality live recordings anytime.

The only bad thing is that they sound like a band that hasn't practiced in years on IOD which is very dissapointing. I guess it's better that they so rarely play it if this is how it sounds nowadays. Maybe it's because it was from an empty club in Amsterdam and they just weren't into it... who knows? I'm surprised they decided on this recording to release to all their fans- they do not sound tight at all... sorry to say.

26 shows and looking forward to something special in Kingston.
