For the first time since Christmas Day 1971, all of Canada can expect a White Christmas.

I know it will be white in Halifax.

The first two lyric t-shirts (Courage and Gus) are up for sale at thehip.com. I am assuming that there will be more shirts added to the collection in the future. If you were in charge of creating the newest lyric T-shirts, which song would you introduce next?

Just saw the movie yesterday afternoon, and I must say it is really good! There is excitement and suspense along with sensitive tear-jerking moments. Certainly one of the best endings I've seen in a long while. Do your wives or girlfriends a favour and watch this movie. Anyone else see it?

Happiness Is A Warm Gun -- John Lennon once referred to this song as his own personal "History of Rock and Roll", and what a great tune it is.
Sandwiched between the prior two is While My Guitar Gently Weeps. No words I can use can describe its perfection.

What a great album. Happy 40th, White Album.

Hip Have New Website, Album Coming

The Tragically Hip are putting the finishing touches to the studio album they've been working on with producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Our Lady Peace).

That's about it as far as details about new material is concerned, but the band have introduced their "Live From The Vault" series of concert recordings on their newly revamped website.

The Hip have recorded their shows since 1995, and the tapes, DATs and CDs have apparently been stored in the vault of a converted bank in downtown Kingston, Ont. The archiving and preservation process has been ongoing over the past several years, leading to the launch of the new series of sound board recordings.

"There are no overdubs or tinkering," says a message on the site. "No Frampton Comes Alive sheen. Just good old two track recordings capturing the band in a moment."

Three concerts can be purchased and downloaded from the Hip's online Gift Shop: Feb. 2, 1995 at Halifax's Metro Centre; Oct. 26, 2002 at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, Texas; and Feb. 6, 2007 at Hamilton's Copps Coliseum. All come with downloadable Wil Ruocco-designed artwork. Recordings will continue to be added, and The Gift Shop has also introduced a wider range of Hip merchandise.

The site has added new music and video players. A new Flickr application enables fans to upload photos of the band to the site, which also features extensive archives of concert information and song lyrics. The "Hip Story Project" allows fans to tell their own stories about the group and what they mean to them.

Imagine the fun in that feature. "It was Nu Yeer's Eve and we were already hamered..."

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone could help me.... I am in a HUGE HUNT to see if anyone might know "a date" on a show that I attended that The Hip played after the release of the "Up to Here" album, and in around the year of '89 or '90....

I know for sure it was NOT the Dec.31st, 1991 show, without a doubt....maybe this show set them up to be "ok" to be able to book that New Year's eve show after not trashing the venue at the show I saw them....but I know its not the '91 show....

If anyone could help me with it so I don't have to go to the Congress Centre to ask them about a past booking by the boys, it would be GREAT!

Im a coach for a local Philadelphia colleges ice hockey team. We dont have any warm up music. We get an 8 minute warm up then can either cut the ice then start the game or just go right into the game. Since we play 20 min periods with ice cuts between each period we just start the game after warm ups. Game is long enough as is.

Since we dont have music I took it upon myself to get some! Our first song is Looking For a Place to Happen and have Meridian in there about 4th or 5th...cant remember off hand. All my players are from the US and dont know the Hip but they like the tempo of Looking

I was wondering if anybody can help me, as for me, Blow At High Dough does not work.
I've tried a few things to try andd listen to that tune, but try as i may, it will only play long time running?

am i doing something wrong, or did a programmer mess up? and where would i email to get the problem fixed?
any help would be appreciated.

Hey all.

On Saturday night I became a dad for the first time. Very awesome and very terrifying!

It's kind of cool having a daughter who was born a dual citizen (American by birth, Canadian by blood).

I guess I don't really have anything to discuss, but I'm excited and wanted to share!
