I'm talking standard photo cameras...not vid.
Fingers are crossed.
I'm so going to rock out this Friday..... 5th row baby!
Can you tell that I'm excited?
Am I on crack or are there not really any sirens which people were talking about?? I remember someone talking about flubs in songs and this was one but I can't hear them and I've listened to the song repeatedly.......
cratch:
on my flight home from NYC on Friday.
Screw metal detectors...that's all the security I'll ever need on a plane.
Row 18 in the center, face value
Bob and I saw Philly, NYC and Boston. We saw 48 songs total, 9 songs three times and 7 songs twice. (if I figured correctly) Here they are in no particular order:
3 0f 3
The Last Recluse
Morning Moon
Bobcageon (1 Accoustic 2 Electric)
Love Is A First
Now The Struggle Has A Name
Frozen In Your Tracks
Depression Suite
NOIS
While I love NOIS, I have heard it a lot and would have preferred to have heard something not as often played here. I am not crazy about The Last Recluse. I really like Love Is A First and think it comes off great live. Depression Suite is powerful and I think it speaks...at least to those who listen.
2 of 3
Family band
Grace Too
Nautical Disaster
In View
Courage
My Music @ Work (1 Accoustic 1 Electric)
Coffee Girl
Again, Courage is often heard...ready to see something else replace it...even though I do love it. Interesting to hear My Music at Work with 2 different sounds. Like Coffee Girl on the track but not as much live as I thought I would.
1 of 3
Honey, Please
You're Not The Ocean
Escape
Goodnight Josephine
It Can't be Nashville Every Night
100th Meridian
Springtime in Vienna
Toronto #4 (a)
Drop
Locked
Fiddlers Green (a)
The Rules (a)
Flamenco (a)
Queen of the Furrows
Feeling
Fully Completely
Longtime Running
Speed River
Throwin off glass
Fireworks
Gift Shop
The Completist
Three Pistols
Are We Family (a)
Thompson Girl (a)
Wheat Kings (a)
It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken
Twist My Arm
Yawning Or Snarling
Little Bones
Tiger The Lion
Blow At High Dough
50 Mission Cap
While I would have like Opiated I was thrilled with Thompson Girl. Really enjoying the accoustic part of the show. GD seems to be interacting more fully with the people, looking people in the eye, including them in his antics.
Philly Venue was very small. Good crowd...nice energy...we had the drunk guy on our side who security had to get rid of. Security did a really fine job of helping out people who were up front the whole time from getting tromped on by "intruders". Kudos!!
NYC Venue was real nice but a really varied crowd. We stayed towards the back and most of the energy was centralized up front. I wonder if they sold the remaining tickets at the TKTS booth for half price. Who were all those people? I also encountered that same group of stupidly drunk guys with the sunglasses WAY before show time and opted to stay well away from them.
BOSTON...you were the bomb! Great crowd (packed!) tons of energy. Course having other hipbase people there helped! Great to see everyone...including Chris, Mark, Dave and Steve. Not to mention the other 8 people who came in from Maine to join us for that show including our nephew who LOVES the Hip.
Can't wait till VT! Have fun in Toronto everyone. I am SO jealous!!! Peace,
Fran
As most of you know a band called Attack in Black is opening for the Tragically Hip in North Bay, ON this summer. Is anyone else super impressed with their new album, Years (by one thousand fingertips)? It's is such an awesome, solid album, and I just picked it up for my birthday on a whim! In my opinion, they are one of the most prefect openers for The Hip. The sad part of all this is I live in Newfoundland and I'm workin all summer so I can't see this amazing show
But I am going to the St. John's show on July 2nd!
Let's discuss Attack in Black and the show in North Bay.
anyone?
Due to the long weekend, and the current state of magnitude in the tournament, the Final Four will begin on Monday May 18th. The Championship round is scheduled for Wednesday May 20th. Thank you for your continued cooperation. Get out the vote!
Match-up #56 - Ahead By A Century Vs. Fully Completely
Listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.
Am I the only one who is going to some (not all) of the Massey Hall shows, and doesn't want to look at any of the set lists? It will be torture to not check in each day, but I feel like I will start using process of elimination to see what could be played at the Friday and Saturday shows.
I hope they save Cordelia!!!
