Absolutely shattering track.
Gord gently rocking all of us, leaving us in the crib with the news of his diagnosis like a bomb about to go off. A man with cancer maybe looking to make a quiet exit, but our eyes on him, watching him the whole time. Would he really leave us, could he just leave us? He comes back to rock us gently again with a new album, MMP, he comes back again to rock us more than gently with a cross-country tour so we can say our goodbyes. He comes back again to give us Secret Path and open our eyes a little wider, and open up his soul to us in interviews and public appearances because we can't just say goodbye to him. He goes to leave us again, and comes back again with news of Introduce Yerself. He backs out of the room, but can't even leave us like that. He has to give us this gift before he goes, so that really he never has to leave us.
And he ties it all to something that so many of us can relate to at such a basic, intimate level.
Absolutely shattering.

Anyone want a pair of Tragically Hip Autographed Levis ?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Jeans-signed-by-T...SwfVhZ81QJ
Not sure how to feel on the fact that these jeans have not been washed.
cratch:
Anyone there too? Footage? Pics? I have my ticket stub in a box somewhere here in Calgary after numerous moves...will post a pic if I ever find it lol. This concert seems to have disappeared off the map of history and would be great if you can correct me.
Lineup:
Rik Emmet
Colin James
Blue Rodeo
The Hip
So, I'm going to get a tattoo...something along the lines of "No dress rehearsal, this is our life" but has anyone done this already that I can see?
I'd also like it in the hip's font - does anyone know what it's called or if there is a template for the lyric in the font?
Thanks guys,
Looking for the DVD of the 2006 performance of The Hip at OVATION in Stratford, ON on Saturday, September 9th. Need to have a copy asap.
Please let me know. I have lost contact information from my previous inquiry years ago.
Chris
Producer of Ovation 2006
Hey folks.
I'm wondering if anyone can remember this......
Live at the Fillmore Oct 24, 25th 2000.....
There was a local camera crew on site. They were doing a documentary on bands playing at the Fillmore. I remember a friend of mine taped it on the old VHS for me and mailed it back home. My wife and I, along with probably some of you, were shown on this video (if I would've know then what I know now, I would've kept everything). I remember it was called something along the lines "Bill Graham presents"?, but I could be wrong. I can't find it anywhere online. If you can remember this, give me a shout.
Thanks and take care.
I've been going through my old photos and setlists. I had always wondered what Gord wrote on my setlist. Wheat Kings was kind of rare at the time so we thanked him for that. I think he said something like 'Yes, it's extraordinary'.
I have a metal gargoyle pin that I got as a free giveaway with my original copy of Trouble At The Henhouse back in 1996. I never wear it and I am sure someone would appreciate it much more than I am. Thinking of putting it on eBay. Also have a 95 Canadian tour t-shirt in good shape that I have outgrown.
Once an appropriate period of mourning for Gord has passed, wouldn't it be nice if the other Gord, Rob, Johnny and Paul could recruit their old pot dealer and high school pal Hugh Dillon of the Headstones and form a new band? I even have a name picked out: "Grace, Too". It wouldn't be right to carry on the Hip name without Gord, but "Grace, Too" after the classic Hip song would be a perfect band name IMHO.
Anyone find these yet? Can't wait to rip audio from them...
