Hey Guys,

If you are interested, one of my images from the show at the Danforth Music Hall is critiqued by famous photographer, David duChemin, author of Within The Frame.

The Podcast is up on PeachPit TV, and can be found by following this link. If you have about 5 minutes, have a look!

I'm pretty much on cloud nine right now as I really enjoyed David's book and I really respect his opinion. It's a very cool feeling to be honoured in this way!

Anyways, here is the image:

Cheers!

Since there are no published rules on the manners, mores and morals of attending a Hip GA show in a relatively small venue I thought it may be interesting to open a discussion on how Basers feel about this. My own behaviour has changed at these types of shows over the past 15 years so I know this topic is very much a moving target. A couple of thoughts to get the ball rolling:

* When lining up outside the venue should you let your late arriving buddies join you in your primo line-up spot?
* Once inside should you let people moving up to get closer to the stage get right in front of you (particularly the 6'5" intoxicated "fans" that basically blind your stage sight lines?
*If you get in late do you rush\push your way up to the stage despite people objecting to this behaviour?
*If you leave for a bathroom or beer brake do you expect\assume you are going to get your spot back?

picked up his new album today and I think its fantastic, one of his best albums, despite a couple of re-releases and a short length which i dont mind, its good enough to listen twice over, its a solid album. A bit of a change as well working with an outside producer and a backing band but it works well.

Unfortunately i feel this guy is going to fall into the same category as ron sexsmith and toil in endless obscurity, both very underappreciated, especially Sexsmith. Although I think Hayden probably prefers its that way.

nevertheless im going to sing his praises even if no-one cares.. :jump

First Set
01 Honey, Please
02 You're Not the Ocean
03 Gift Shop
04 Morning Moon
05 Ahead by a Century
06 Dire Wolf
07 Speed River
08 At the Hundredth Meridian
09 Depression Suite

11 Love is a First

Second Set
01 Boots or Hearts
02 Scared
03 Coffee Girl
04 Save the Planet
05 Poets
06 Last Recluse
07 Pigeon Camera
08 Courage
09 Grace, Too
10 Country Day
11 Fireworks
12 My Music at Work
13 Encore break
14 Now the Struggle Has a Name
15 New Orleans is Sinking

This was a sold-out show with a lot of Canadians making the trip 'round Lake Erie to enjoy another fine set from the Kingston, Ontario favorites. TTH are a taper-friendly band so I was able to park the Zoom H2 near the board without any objections. I initially feared I'd set the recording level too high, but on listening I feel it's one of my better captures. So freakin' enjoy it and pass it along (in lossless, of course).

Torrent includes House of Blues welcome announcement by itself (separated from the music files) but would fit on disc one of a two CDR set quite nicely.
