Word around Kingston is that the Hip are working on a new album with a new producer at their studio The Bathouse.
Album will be done by March with a release in fall 2012.

A few small concerts are in the works leading up to the release with a full tour in early 2013.

I was looking around to find some of the summer of 2011 shows to download audio or dvd shows.

Thanks

And they want our opinion...

A street seems kinda lame. Something a little more tangible perhaps. An entire park?

Sorry if this duplicates another thread ... I did a quick search and couldn't find anything relevant.

So, if you have a heads up on new releases for this year post them here. I realize there are web sites with this information but I thought since we tend to have similar tastes in music this would be a more relevant list. Ideally these are confirmed release dates but bona fide rumours with a solid reference are good too.

Confirmed:

Mars Volta - Noctourniquet - March 27
Joseph Arthur - Redemption City - January 18, Delayed until midnight tonight because of SOPASTRIKE. This is free from http://www.josepharthur.com, payment is at the buyer's discretion
Paul McCartney - Kisses On The Bottom - Feb 7
Kathleen Edwards - Voyageur - January 17

Anticipated:

U2 - Songs of Ascent
Rush - Clockwork Angels
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Winter 2012
Garbage
Sigur Rós
Mumford & Sons
Muse
Pearl Jam
The Tragically Hip

...reads a headline on nhl.com today for the check on Wayne Simmonds.

Idunno. I thought that was pretty sweet. Whoever's writing headlines for nhl.com has good taste Wink The obvious reference (to us) did not go unnoticed, good sir!!!

Hi Everyone,

For the past 5.5 years, I've been hoping to get a video copy of the first Ft. York, Toronto show from 2006 (June 23, 2006).

I had previously been bugging one of the tapers about once a year following the show, but gave up a few years back as more important events took precedence on all sides.

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out with this show. To try and make something happen, I've revisted the demo cassette copy I got from the eBay auction seller in 2007, finally made a higher quality transfer, and cleaned up a lot of the hiss that was prevelant throughout the recording.

I'd like to offer a 24/96 copy of the newly cleaned transfer to anyone who can help me out with the 2006-06-23 Ft. York show on DVD. If a copy of the un-cleaned/un-cut 24/96 raw transfer would be preferred, I'll send that. Below are 2 samples of this 2011 (cleaned) transfer:

If anyone is able to help me out, please pm me. If the video is shared publically on a tracker, I'd be happy to do the same.

Cheers,

Scott

Hello everyone,
I suck at guitar but I am trying and someday hope to be able to play some Hip around the camp fire. I have always had a hard time finding time and learning on my own is tough and do not want to shell out big money for lessons at this point so I bought Rocksmith bundle comes with a Les Paul Jr. which is a pretty good starter. Anyway reason for post is for all newbs trying to learn guitar but are like me not into lessons so at this point it is a great tool. Advanced don't bother you will be bored...So go for it $200 bucks guitar and all and you really play and learn real guitar not this Rockband or guitar hero crap...The dream would be some Hip for DLC and who knows they did it for Rockband...It has received very good reviews from actual teachers... :music

Anybody got any headphone suggestions? Sick of my Bose over the ears falling apart, went out and got some Monster Beat Studios and they just sound way too bass heavy. Let me know if anyone's got some suggestions.
