This is kinda funny...it is about the lockout and for Habs fans but good using Blow at High Dough...

Cal's NHL Lockout 2012 Song Parodies
More Song Parodies
Even More Song Parodies

Blow At High Dough

They played a great game once in my home town
Everybody’d come and watch from miles around
Out at the Forum, some kinda Gros Bill thing
Well I ain't no hockey star, but I can get behind les Canadiens
Yeah I can get behind les Canadiens

Get ‘em out get ‘em all out
Yeah show those things
24 at last, 25 comin’ fast
At least until the alarm bell rings

Well that back seat driver liked his rhythm never liked to stop
Throes of passion all mish-mashin’
When an insult just threw him off

Sometimes the angrier it gets
The less you want to know
But you gotta remember
The longer this things lasts the further it's going to go

When you blow at high dough
When you blow at high dough

Wooh, baby I feel like s--t
I'm pretty sure of it
It makes no sense how it makes no sense
This lockout is nonsense
Whoever’s fifty is not fifty
It’s the strangest thing
How’d they do that, and then that?
It was just sickening

Sometimes, the longer it lasts
The less we want to know
But we gotta remember
The dumber they are the further it's going to go

When you blow at high dough
When you blow at high dough

Out at the Forum, that Gros Bill thing
Well I love hockey; I can get behind les Canadiens
Yeah I can get behind les Canadiens
I can get behind les Canadiens

Sometimes the longer it lasts
The less we want to know
But we gotta remember
The dumber they are the further it's going to go
When you blow at high dough

When you blow at high dough
Blow at high dough

Blow at high dough

Blow

Just purchased the CD/mp3 package last night from the Victimless Capitalism website. Another stellar effort from Mr. Hawkins. Seriously, everything this guy puts out is pure gold. It kills me that he never seems to get the recognition he so richly deserves. Such an outstanding songwriter with a wonderful gift for melody. Not to mention his brilliant lyrics. In terms of great Canadian storytellers, he's easily right up there with the likes of Cohen, Young, Downie, and John K. Samson. All of you need to do yourselves a favor and support this guy. You're welcome:

The Oils just released a 2-disc greatest hits collection, and they sat down for an interview yesterday with Radio National Australia (their version of the CBC). Some really interesting stuff in this interview, and some cool stories from their early days touring the Aussie pub circuit in the late 70s and early 80s. Also, they hint at the possibility of more live shows in the future. I'd love for these guys to put out a new record and tour again. One of my favorite bands of all time.

On the previous Hip Tracker, I saw a recording of the Sam Roberts performance from Big Music Fest 2011. Would someone be kind enough to re-post on the new Hip Tracker (or other site)?

Also, I know the Hip set was recorded as well, but the taper was asked not to post because of the Bobcaygeon movie. Is there any plan to post the recording in the future? Does the Bobcaygeon movie include the full performance or is it only the documentary?

I was at Big Music Fest and had a blast, minus the long lines and bus fiasco at the end.

Thanks for any info in advance.
