Online ad leads police to hot Tragically Hip tickets
The Chronicle-Journal
Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 08:00
A Thunder Bay man has been charged after attempting to sell stolen concert tickets on Kijiji.
Police said Tuesday that a 42-year-old man posted an ad on the online service attempting to sell tickets to the Tragically Hip concert in Thunder Bay.
However, the victim of a Dec. 27 break-and-enter in the city saw the ad, and notified police that the tickets, according to the row and seat number, were the ones that had been stolen from her home during the robbery.
The tickets had been reported stolen after the break and enter. Police contacted the seller, and two undercover officers went to the N. Court Street address provided.
When the man produced the tickets, he was charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and taken into custody. He has since been released and has a future court date.
Police said Tuesday the break and enter is still under investigation, and no charges have been laid in that incident.
So I bought 2 tickets through the presale for the Brandon show, and got front row! I now have to sell one of those tickets.
Seat is right in front of Gord S and Rob.
Let me know if you're interested!
Has there been a second single released? If so which one? If not why the wait?
hey music lovers...
curious on the various interactions that us have had with the boys, whether at a cafe or an aftershow or whatever...I always like reading these and thought it would be thread worthy. I will even kick it off as I am 37,000 feet high somewhere between Vegas and YYZ.
I have had the good fortune of hanging with the guys on many occasions and will say that chatting with Paul Langlois, my cousin, Gord Downie, Tony Tanti's son after the recent LA show was a lot of fun as we all just kinda hung and chatted about life in general.
My other fave moment was back in chicago hanging with Johnny and listening to his India trek stories in an HOB lounge after a show back in the early 2000's.
A consolidated look at peoples experiences with the guys and/or their entourage would be an interesting read for me so please chime in with your experiences.
Cheers!
does anyone know where I can find the Hip`s SNL performance online. It used to be on You Tube but the bloodsuckers at NBC have taken it off ...my girlfriend is a new fan and since that is the performance that introduced me to the band and made me a life long fan, I wanted to share that with her. Any help would be greatly appreciated....I will check on here for a response or can be reached at urstruly1127@gmail....thanks

I wasn't around for the pre-sale and missed out. I am looking for a pair of tickets to any of the southern Ontario shows (Toronto, Kitchener, Guelph, Oshawa). Would love floor seats, but I am willing to take lower bowl seats as well. If you have an extra pair for any of these shows please let me know.

What I hate and cannot understand is why the Hip's merchandise is so damn expensive!
I guess I can understand why some of the prices are inflated at the shows, because that is how older bands have always done it for some damn reason.
But the prices never seem to go down. Most other bands I follow have sales, specials, deals, etc... (and I am not talking about their $25 off sale on their new extremely over priced hockey jersey)
But the Hip never have sales or drop prices even on the super old merchandise. They are missing out on tons of sales I believe. There is no reason a shirt should be selling online for $30 plus shipping.
Yes you can point out that occasionally they do have "bundle deals" but even those wanna be deals suck. The Hip's shipping alone is horrendous.
An example: around christmas from another band I bought 2 t-shirts one CD and three stickers and with shipping and tax the grand total came to $46.
Rant over
I imagine song-chasing is a common phenomenon with concert-goers since there are so many songs that aren't regularly played. However, of the songs that are played from time to time, there seems to be at least a couple that continually elude me in live performance. After 9 shows, two of the most commonly played songs I have yet to witness are Escape Is at Hand and Fifty Mission Cap.
What about for others?
title says it all.. anyone want my money for a TATH LP?
message me!
