"We’ve already told you all about the new Peace Songs compilation that will be coming out later this month. Now, the organizers of the album have finally released the tracklisting for the double-disc set.

While the album was originally set to come out on April 15, the release date has been pushed back a couple of days to April 17"

'Gord Downie And The Country Of Miracles — "If I Had A Hammer" (Pete Seeger) "

Did any of you see this on the news?? I thought it was GREAT :thumb: The Iraqi people look so happy; celebrating, beating on the statue, riding the statue head around. Awesome!! It is still a long road ahead, but this looks like a good beginning to their liberation.

Any thoughts??

P.S. Yes, our soldier made a very STUPID move by putting the U.S. flag up on the head for a few moments. UGH!! What the hell was he thinking???? Confusedcratch:

This is a little project I undertook a long time ago just for kicks, a little catalogue, a tiny list, of songs written and/or performed by Downie and the Hip. There are some ?'s however, because I have not heard these -- are these actual songs the Hip have played, or just rants? I also want to see if there are any missing here. Though I'd like to keep the rants off this. Have a look...

Here we go!

I'm looking forward to crushing the Flyers...

What are everyone's predictions?

Do we have any takers for some friendly bootleg wagering?

How about anything from you wannabe's from Ber-snoozer-ville? I don't know, St. Louis could just sweep you right out into the rain...

Mats (you thought I was ugly before!).

Found this on the rounder site:

Battle of the Nudes is the second solo album from Gordon Downie, lead singer and chief lyricist of Canadian superstars The Tragically Hip. From the wistful opening track "Into the Night," to the bouncy single "Pascal's Submarine," Downie's poetic vision focuses on both the real and the imagined. Battle of the Nudes is a stunning step forward for the restless creative force that is Gordon Downie.

Great to see figment and we're hardcore on there. #3 and 7 sound a bit familar too. Can't wait to hear it. Here's the link: http://www.rounder.com/album.asp?catalog_id=6483

"The toque-wearing Downie was easily the biggest name on the rather spontaneous bill, organized in large part by K-OS. Downie played the evening's max of three songs, flanked by Dale Morningstar of Dinner Is Ruined and John Finlayson of The Skydiggers. Like most of the night's artists, no hits or singles, but Downie did include a version of the folk staple "If I Had A Hammer," giving it a rollicking feel that made it very Hip.

Gordie played around 10 p.m., which gave the whole evening a Warped-Tour feel"
