Hi there,
I am dying to read the lyrics to Vaccination Scar. I have spent a few hours now online looking for it. Yes, I will buy the album and will find them there, though maybe someone can suggest where I can find them.

Finally! It feels like I've been waiting forever for this thing to come out. The album was recorded by Ian Blurton and mixed by "In Between Evolution" producer Adam Kasper. Kasper seems to like working with Canadian bands of late. He also mixed the latest Weakerthans album. Anyway, here's the latest news for all you Low fans:

CANROCK LEGENDS LOWEST OF THE LOW JOIN MAPLEMUSIC RECORDINGS

MapleMusic Recordings is pleased to announce today that Lowest Of The
Low
has signed with the label for the release of their new album Sordid
Fiction
on September 21, 2004.

Formed in 1991 in Toronto The Low released two albums, 1991's seminal
Shakespeare My Butt and 1993's Hallucigenia before parting ways for a
six-year hiatus. Although the band was no longer together, their fan
base
never diminished and in 2000 Shakespeare My Butt reached the number six
spot
on Chart Magazine's Top 100 Canadian Albums Of All Time. That same
year the
former band mates joined forces again for a reunion tour resulting in
the
release of a live album Nothing Short of a Bullet, taped during sold
out
shows at Toronto's Kool Haus and Buffalo's The Tralf.

Lowest of the Low, comprised of Ron Hawkins (vocals/guitar), Stephen
Stanley
(vocals/guitar) and David Alexander (drums) have added some new members
to
the lineup. Lawrence Nichols, a long time Low collaborator who also
played
with Ron in the critically acclaimed Rusty Nails has joined The Low
full-time to play keyboards, harmonica and guitar in addition to
singing
back-up vocals. Veteran bass player Dylan Parker who met Stephen while
playing a few gigs with Stephen's post-Low outfit Lucky Stiff has since
become a permanent member of the band.

A tour that will take the band across Canada and to various cities in
both
the US and the UK is currently in the works for September.

Sordid Fiction was recorded over the last year at Chemical Sound
Recording
with an impressive team behind the console. Canadian rock genius Ian
Blurton (Blurtonia, Bionic, C'Mon) produced while Adam Kasper (Nirvana,
Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters) took on the mixing duties in
Seattle.
The album was mastered by Joao Carvalho (Pilate, Hawksley Workman, By
Divine
Right) at his new Toronto facility.

personally, i'm glad we haven't seen one yet..just wondering your thoughts on what would be included..would there be "bonus tracks"? would it be their best selling cd in years? or perhaps ever? and what would be some cool names for the cd as opposed to the generic greatest hits? (which we know they wouldn't use...)

I've just listened to the entire album from that Russian "Pay Per Track" site, and after hearing Goodnight Josephine I'm sure there is trumpet in there... is that the beer talking, or is there actually some type of brass instrument during the first chorus?

[BNL] Drove downtown in the rain [/BNL] with a friend last night whose a big 80's hair rock, G 'n R fan. We were talking about how he'll probably be waiting for "Chinese Democracy" long after Beijing sees its first elected government.

For us Hip fans, these bi-annual summers come around like a familiar friend. Secret shows, album leaks, world premiers, let's hit the road.

We're a pretty lucky group of fans.

And this weekend is always the LONGEST isn't it?

I was wondering why there is so little info known about this tour when it was The Hip's first arena shows in alot of cities? It seems like there's hardly any setlists known. I was just wondering if anyone saw any of these shows what the sets were like (songs and lenghts) and what kind of crowds they drew in the arenas.

Also, what's the story about pot and Saskatchewen that people keep talking about?

Most Hip fans like these albums but they'll likeley be looked upon as low points for the band by the masses. As fans how do you feel these albums have aged? Do you still listen to them alot? Do you skip alot of songs on them?

I have IVL going right now and I haven't listened to it lately. I think it's good but not great...it's almost like they're holding something back, whereas I think Vaccination Scar feels like they're pouring everything they have into it.

M@W is probably the Hip album I listen to the least although I loved it when it came out. I just don't totally "get" songs like The Bear and The Bastard. However, Lake Fever is one of my all-time favourite Hip songs.
